Most of the other games force you to stop moving and go into a dance menu to change forms, which slows down the game as you're running around. Pirate's Curse doesn't have that (for plot reasons) as so it moves a lot faster since your power-ups are just available at all times as you run around.

>>728933730I've played GBC Shantae up to Half Genie Hero, and I think that Pirate's Curse is the best way for a new player to get into the series. The only exception is if you really, really like the interconnected explore platformer world over more standard stages, in which case I'd recommend Risky's Revenge (if you're okay with a shorter game) or GBC Shantae (if you're okay with the limited colors and viewing window).I've not played Seven Sirens or Risky's Revolution, so I can't say how good those two are in comparison.
