Enough slow starts. I want video games that put me immediately into the action. No more intro cutscene, no tutorial islands, nor handholding until the 3rd chapter.

When I start a new game, I want to GAME.

God of War 3 does this, I remember being floored at the game just skipping the main menu, title screen, everything, and dropping players right into the war on Olympus.

That's what the difficulty curve is for. You make the first level easy enough that you can get by just fumbling through while figuring out the controls. Games had this figured out forever ago.

I think every single game should have the Starfox 64 treatment. There should be a separate "Tutorial" option in the main menu that teaches you how to play the game, and pressing Start Game throws you into the first level with no tutorializing.

Yes, that is Captain Underpants.
