the more I see about this game blows my mind, because I missed all of this melee combat during my playthroughs. I mean I was never incentivized to use it, and there were tutorials for it in DS2 but I still never really used it because shooting enemies with guns was just faster, but this looks fun. All the work that went into these moves and mechanics and animations is underappreciated.

Honestly as much as some DS1 fans disliked the sequel I think the games work much better as a two parter. I was very satisfied with the first game but also wanted more of everything. DS2 is just that and when you look at them as one big game it is spectacular.
