I'm not anti-AI. Something I don't understand is, why are they doubling down on expenses instead of optimizing the AI algorithms to run on lesser hardware? I've seen youtube videos experimenting with smaller models. Wouldn't it make sense to figure out how to run the same fidelity of AI on a smaller scale to cut down expenses on hardware and electricity instead of spending more money on it? This just doesn't seem like a very capitalist approach to me.
I was waiting for the 9070 cards to release but when Lisa delayed them I said fuck waiting and bought a 4070 Super and built an X870e 9800X3D 32gigas ram PC oil rig with it. Seems like I made the right decision. Thanks for asking.
