One of the most interesting things about Deltarune to me at the moment that people rarely talk about is that the bloodstain is already by the cage in Kris's room before we arrive. It would seem to imply that Kris was already ripping out their soul before chapter 1, but why would they need to put it in a cage if their soul wasn't controlled by us at the time?I could see it going two possible paths, either Kris was being controlled by something before us, or we will control Kris in a 'chapter 0' scenario. I think I would prefer the second option since it's a lot more interesting, but as for which I think is actually more likely to be true, I'm not sure. My issue with the idea is that if it is the case that we possess Kris earlier on in the timeline than chapter 1, I would really hope there's an explanation for why our POV begins at chapter 1 rather than the time of possession. The intro of the game also really makes it seem like the beginning of chapter 1 is when we make our 'connection' with Kris. It's very difficult to say what's actually going on here, but it's something to think about.
