Soul vs Soulless

soulless vs soulless

how comes all the boring open world shit, ubisoft towers and annoyingly breakable weapons are ok when Nintendo does them?
>>
>>728948475
I love both games but cant deny the graphics are terrible. whoever is in charge of the color palette needs shooting

This is an issue that have 95% of all modern video games. So, why is it only when a few Nintendo games have it that it becomes problematic?

its literally the same picture.

I love how much this triggers the deformed lefthanded freaks who cry because they lost their only representation

I didn't read the thread but I don't understand why they put in stamina depletion outside of climbing. Constantly having to manage stamina when crossing the huge map is anti-fun.

i mean unironically by devaluing the worldbuilding and setting into something they tell you you shouldn't take seriously, totk really does have no soul compared to botw

I still can't really articulate why I didn't like Tears of the Kingdom as much.
The most that I can say is that it's overdesigned.
I don't like the building mechanics. It seems like most of the time you're either making something that they specifically mean for you to make in a puzzle, or just pulling out one of your pre-made structures that you designed once and never again. (read: hover bike)
The quests are a lot of "go find all 38 of these things throughout the world and report back" while BotW had more structured smaller scale quests. I also didn't really enjoy what they did with the great faeries and their unlocking. it just got cumbersome eventually.
the memory cutscenes in BotW were pretty good because we already knew how they ended, and we're just uncovering more information to add context and help strengthen our connections to the characters. In TotK, it's an actual story that can and will easily get ruined for you if you don't go to them in order. There isn't even a story reason for why they're located where they are. They could have just made you watch the cutscenes in the intended order regardless of which order you find the runes in.
And fusing is always annoying. I hate using those ugly weapons exclusively, finding a weapon is more about finding a handle than anything, you don't have any incentive to use your weaker ones except as arrow heads in the late game. The fact that you can't just fuse from the menu like arrows is the worst part. drop item, switch to fuse, look down, hit Y on the correct item, All while an enemy is currently attacking you. Most likely a tough enemy considering you need more than one weapon for it. Fusing should have been only for special effects. Glue a rock to your sword to make it ragdoll enemies, but it does less damage. Attach an elemental component to give it that element at the cost of reduced durability. Something to make it more than just using your strongest item.

also,

>proceeds to articulate
I can't explain why I don't like this stuff, but I can easily explain what I don't like.
