but honestly, to anybody who has played the game and seen the art style, the whole game looks AI generated. its very messy-looking. its not bad looking, but its very intricate and has a lot of shit going on and it just feels very much like an AI spitting out a bunch of random shit, with a single prompt to wrangle it toward belle epoque.

In many games you can see "This area is used for this". What the fuck is that mess of an area used for in a real scenario? Shit devs are shit. They crutched on UE5 to cover it up.

If you're on nvidia, use DLAA. Also there probably is a way to edit the .ini to reduce/remove the volumetric fog but you'll have to google that yourself.

Do all vidya doomed to be like this? Walking around in third person as 'real life events' like npc interaction, background clutter, all happened at the same time? games like 2000s-2010s final fantasy, tomb raider, and ghost recon present their stage in substantial context - that is for the players to beat - as opposed to modern vidya that are showing (or bragging) about npc interaction, dust and leaf flying in front of player camera, or some stupid environmental 'establish' shot like in those films and movies with intention of appreciation, for players to look around and admire, like why?
