I've been thinking how it's weird that Musous have fallen off as a genre so hard. It wasn't that long ago that every goddamn property under the sun was getting a Musou spin-off. But lately we've had DW Origins and Age of Imprisonment... and what else? They were never my favorite kind of game, but every once in a while I'd be in the mood to just veg out and mash buttons for a bit in Hyrule Warriors or Fate Extella Link.

How the fuck is there not a single dragon ball game with open areas that you can freely use largescale attacks in.
Every single game is either a fighting game, a shitty RPG, or some weird frankengame like Kakarot that gives you an open world and then doesn't let you do anything in it.
All I want to do is fly around and fire off huge beams
Xenoverse is weirdly the closest its ever gotten but everything in that game is tied so hard to lock-on that it plays the same as a fighting game.

The reason you spend a bunch of fucking money on an anime license is because the anime is already popular so retards will buy the game because they like the anime. You've guaranteed fan sales already.
You don't spend all that money just to waste even more money on designing a good game, there's no point, the game is already going to sell, so you just do the bare minimum and shit it out the door.
There is no anime to game adapation that is good, and there never will be.
