I work full time. I have a family. I don't have that much time to play games and when I do I often get interrupted. What are the best games that can be very easily picked up and dropped while still being fun?
>>728962568Zelda BOTW and TOTK
Odyssey, Bananza, Air Riders if you like Nintendo. Air Riders has modes that can last 1 minute, 5 minutes, or 10 so you can play in whatever increments of time you have.
>>728962681Aren't they open world?
>>728962568Most consoles allow you to pause games so being interrupted shouldn't matter too much. Most of Nintendo's first party games recently seem to be built around short play sessions though.
>>728963125yeah but it's like 4 activities you do over and over hundreds of times
>>728963217It's not so much the lack of pausing ability, it's the flow of the gameplay. Some games just do better (and are probably built around) long, uninterrupted sessions. Especially story focused games
>>728962568just any roguelike - Balatro, Noita, Isaac
>>728962568Kirby, both of them, buy them both.
>>728962568Cultic Halls of Tormentracing games
>>728962568Tony Hawk's Pro Skater is built around playing in two-minute chunks.

Most nintendo games are like this these days
>>728971047>>728970990Local multiplayer? This is a terrible idea
>>728963338 Exactly this. It's not about whether you *can* pause - it's whether the game is diminished by doing so. Games like Disco Elysium, Persona, or even something like TLoU really want you immersed in the world and characters. Stopping every 5 minutes to do dishes or answer a text just kills the mood completely. It's no surprise so many indies lean into arcade-y or roguelike structures now - they slot into busy lives way better than sprawling narratives.
Arcade games. You want arcade games. This is an aspect for whey they're good, by the way.
I'll hijack this thread for a moment. Which of these 3 would you guys buy if you could only get 1?Megaman have never been this low, and CrossCode was this low like 2 years ago (although I couldn't get the dlc right now). DD's always on sale so I could wait if any of the other 2 seems a better choice.I like all 3 but can't decide which would be better bang for my buck, since I only have like $7 left on my eshop.
>>728962568hotline miami is a good one and im pretty sure its on switch. if you like puzzle games you can also try baba is you

>>728962568Anything arcadey or made for portable systems. Look up lists of cool GBC games, for example.
>>728977705I'm a Mega Man fan, so I'd go with 11.>>728978132It'd be easier if you could whittle the list down if you named a genre you like or want to avoid. I'm just gonna rattle off some random old ones, then a few modern ones you can find on Steam and Switch.
