People are stupid so they cant detect real genius without other people pointing it out. The sad reality is narcissists who call themselves geniuses are 100x more likely to be seen as one by others since someone has to start the trend. This then improves their career by giving them access to infinite resources for all their projects.Even if kojima wasn't a narcissist what he is doing is the smartest possible course of action as a game director who runs a studio that lives or dies by his name.
