Bought it today, played a couple of hours with buddies of mine. Honestly, did't expect it to be good, always looked to me like the most generic looter shooter ever made. But have to give credit where it's due, peacefully collecting resources was fun, the all out team dethmatch on the last unlockable map soothes the bloodthirst, will try it solo tomorrow.

It's another extraction shooter that casualized the things that make Tarkov appealing long term away. Just like CoD DMZ and whatever the fuck that Battlefield extraction mode was this game is care bear baby shit with loot that doesn't matter and meaningless progression.
They replaced meaningful gameplay progression and challenge with live service Engagement garbage like multiple battle passes and FOMO grindfest leaderboards where you are punished for not engaging with the rat race every week.

you sound like youre just spouting off random shit that doesnt apply to the specifric context being discussed because oyu dont actually engage with it. Which lets be frank isnt necessarily me saying ARC isnt guilty of some of these things- it just means Im saying youre talking shit. Because meaningful gameplay progression is still present in ARC wherein you successfully bring back items to upgrade your facilities that necessarily mean youre stronger in your next raids

finding a blueprint for a level 2 gun means you can then just make that gun instead of clutching at it with gear fear or spending monetary resources just to get one. The challenge is always other players who are doing the same thing. If youre autistic enough that you cant shit on some features of a game while playing it casually and then stopping at the facets that arent for you then youve got more issues than the true quality of the game.

I only play with the lads and i have a good time- then i talk shit about the fucked up playerbase and go play Sakuna in bed, it nbd. Im thankful it isnt Tarkov at the very least

Don't get me wrong the game is fun but it doesn't have the long term appeal tarkov has for me. I've maxed out my stations and got most of the gun blueprints I like unlocked after 70 hours of play. But for PvP higher tier guns don't even feel that more powerful compared to Grey Guns like the Stitcher. And for PvE you'll do just fine with a Ferro or Anvil which are gray and green respectively unless you're doing boss runs which there's barely any reason to do outside of trials. I get it this is by design to keep the playing fields equal for less hardcore players but the unpredictability of something like Tarkov is a lot of fun for me. Gauging the risk of facing someone based on their gear just isn't really a thing here.
I don't like the questing in this game and stuff like trials and the events always being on timers just feel bad to me. Maybe I'm just in the awkward space between casual and hardcore here.

I played 150 hours. I've done everything. I'd like for there to be harder AI and PvE options, even though I've played my fair share of PvP. I've seen all the loot, got all the gear. It's still fun but there is nothing new. I like games where exploration is key, but when there is nothing left to explore, then I'm done. Elden Ring 500+ hours with expansion and then Convergence Mod, but unless there is another expac I probably won't play it again.
