Young people keep turning on Dark Souls 1, will its reputation survive?

My first Souls game was Elden Ring and when I went back to Dark Souls 1 I hated it. As a FaithGOD I really hated how much split damage got screwed over and unlike the two games I played before (Demon's Souls and Elden Ring) it was much more linear so if I got stuck on something I just had to keep banging my head against the wall until I figured it out. I did come back to it later and while I no longer hate the game it's easily my least favorite of the trilogy.
