I watched some of my old DC duels from 2023 and 2024.Even on a bad deck like Thunder Dragon, you were hitting nonengine more consistently because you could resolve cards like Allure of Darkness. Against Tears and Kashtira I would activate x2 evenly pretty consistently because you could dig for it. And despite what others say evenly is pretty good into Maxx "C" provided you can pay on both turns.But now you can't dare run a card like Allure or Pot of Avarice because you risk Ash or worse, Droll.Says a lot that I haven't seen any Tenpai this DC either despite it being a staple in bo1 tournaments. Tenpai is so inconsistent it needs to resolve the striker cards to dig for the Tenpai shit, if it can't it loses instantly.

In 2022 Spright rarely had to worry about 2, let alone 3 handtraps, or even floodgate handtrps like droll, retaliating, shifter. Decks needed bigger engines to function so by default they couldn't run 50% handtraps.Now, Spright cannot play through all that disruption while also making a board that resists breakers and can stop the opponent. My spright engine is 1 blue, 2 jet, 1 carrot, 2 starter. You have to expect to play through 2 handtraps per turn and you barely have enough cards to stop 1 breaker.
