Sad because you missed out on the event and didn't get your jolly santa hat? Don't be! There's actually a way to still play the event and get the rewards through a very simple exploit. Follow these steps:

1. Quit any games that are running.
2. Enable airplane mode (this requires your Switch 2 being undocked)
3. Start up Kirby Air Riders
4. You should see the event announcement, press + to start the event
5. At the screen where you can choose your rider/machine combo, disable airplane mode. You may also dock your Switch 2 if you want.
6. You should now be queued up for the supposedly cancelled event!

The only caveat is that someone else must also be doing the same thing or you will not get into a game, so it could take a bit of waiting. Merry Christmas!

I think I may either do some special training alone with the amiibo or see what I can do about getting another one (preferably second hand, I got both due to a state rebate) because while it's funny that this amiibo picks up on the tendencies of the paddock, it picks up on the entire tendencies of the paddock, which is why I think it prefers collecting stats at all times.

Rail Panic was wasted potential since it's easy enough to avoid the Gordos that it becomes a de facto drag race.
They could have done the thing from the minigame in Amazing Mirror (I think?) where you have to hold down the button for certain sections of the rail and not others.

The only complaints I have are that the clear plastic joints for the arms detach really easily because of how big they are, and I think they could have added a few more bits of articulation to the armor. Also the Kirby has stress marks on the little hole for the stand piece. Otherwise, I love it. But it is a little expensive, I think the price this reissue is being sold at now is a bit more fair despite the size

That was a minigame in Nightmare in Dream Land, Amazing Mirror had one where you jump off waves.

But yeah, would be a good idea. I dislike that Air Riders changed the mechanic so you just have a max charge gauge while rail riding - there is a part of Checker Knights where you would charge to hit the glowing part of a rail (or be on a bike vehicle) for a boost, but I'm pretty sure its just an automated boost for that section now in Riders
