>Pick perks to make a build instead of just making my marine stronger with blanket upgrades
>Perks are shit like "15% more damaged for 5 seconds after shield is down"
>You pick 1 out of 3 in a line, so once you pick one in each line your marine is basically maxxed out
>Operations get progressively harder in difficulty while your marine stays the same or gimped by less healing
>You need to play harder difficulties to get certain materials for weapon upgrades

How is this better than the 1st game? It's not. Not healing on kill is a grave sin, and the rest of it is annoyances that stack on top of each other. I could forgive it if it had health on execution and allowed me to pick all the perks to upgrade my marine, but they expect you to make a retarded build in an already retarded perk system. No amount of flashy executions can make up for how frustrating the melee combat can be at times.

It was a bit less fun than SM1 for me. Still an enjoyable game tho of course.
