What is the fate of Retro after this turd?
I can see them being relegated to spinoff games and other lower profile games.

>>728975731Depends. Did it flop bigly in the US?
>>728976338>Did it flop bigly in the US?Probably, even the best received titles don't get huge sales.
>>728975731Downsized and relegated to a support studio. Art direction (apart from the desert, obviously) and the soundtrack are just about the only things Retro didn't fuck up on this game, so they'll likely get those tasks outsourced them like they did with MK7 and other games.Needless to say they won't be at the helm of any $100m projects in the near future. First party Nintendo studios have fucked up before but never to this degree with so much money on the line.
>>728976438What I mean is if it flopped relative to the "better" selling Metroids like Dread or Prime 1.
Off to Skid Row.
>>728975731They’ll be made to work on DK Country games FOREVER, and that’s a good thing!

>>728976964>>728977035I don't see the problem.
>>728975731You're not going to change anything
I’m back at Flare Pool after finishing Ice Belt and getting the bike upgrade. What can I expect?
>>728977159Hey Samus! Don't forget to look for mech parts! And remember to pick up green energy crystals!

>>728975731>The Metroid Prime series might be approaching its most carefully planned phase yet. Sources say that new leaks and internal signals point to the fact that Metroid Prime 5 is already in the works, with work starting even before players got their hands on Metroid Prime 4 Beyond. Nintendo seems to have set up the fourth game as the beginning of a larger story arc instead of a long-awaited standalone revival.>This shows that the company is still committed to one of its most popular properties in the long run. The rumors started to spread after news broke that Retro Studios was working on both Metroid Prime 4 and Metroid Prime 5 at the same time. At first, people were doubtful about the theory, but the following events made it more believable.>Nintendo's own ads for Metroid Prime 4 called it "the beginning of a new story," which caught the attention of both fans and analysts. Given the new rumors, the language suddenly seems less like a random slogan and more like a planned clue at what will happen next.>Sources say that Metroid Prime 5 is already a go, no matter how well Metroid Prime 4 sells. Reports say that the decision was made because Retro Studios made an ambitious creative pitch that was too big for one game. Nintendo is claimed to have approved the idea as a multi-game vision instead of cutting it down. This means that there will be at least two Prime games based on the same ideas, technology, and long-term storytelling.
