I feel like BS2 can be done better in almost every way, the first game was better but it still comes off like an average RPG maker game with that typical "anime" writing to the characters, which I personally hate. Its premise is interesting but I feel its attempt to be a JRPG even with its writing grates on me.

BS1 lets you just grab every ending in one cycle if you meet the requirements for them and it takes maybe 30 minutes on a new cycle if you fuck up. BS2 cycles can take less than 15 minutes, 4 endings and their variants are through one door, 2 more endings can be literally gotten right after a new cycle if you meet the requirements, one ending just requires all of the base game covenants, and the last ending is literally the endgame content. If the cycles out of everything in this series somehow filters you, you have absolutely zero patience.

From the Conan/Howards main character option and also having a Elric/Moorcock player character. Tons of Lovecraft, some real world ideas, Soul Edge, it was the creator making a world from everything he loved about grimdark and fantasy. Not it's just a Berserk knock off.
