Let’s say I have access to a game that was recently canceled this year. Where would be the best place to leak it so people can download and play it, and how could I make sure it isn’t traced back to me? I don’t want to fuck up the trust I’ve spent years building, but I genuinely believe in archiving, and I think this needs to be preserved. I may ultimately chicken out since I don’t want to get in trouble—but just in case, you know?

Leak it here
>>

>unity
nah keep that garbage, nothing of value was lost
>>
>>728983669
right but cant someone find someway to trace the file back to me? sorry for the dumb question not super duper tech savvy with stuff like that
>>
>>728983585
OP what was even the point of your screenshot? all it is is evidence that you know what a unity game looks like. you didn't need to convince anyone of that
>>
Probably should ask /g/
>>
>>728983823
The file is labeled under a codename, not the name of the game that was publicly announced before it was canned. I don’t want the codename getting out, because someone on the team could see it and realize that someone is considering leaking it.

get (preferrably no log or trial of) vpn
upload to sharing site like hostize or something with no account
share link here
if not incognito/private prowser session, delete sharing site cookies (prevents tracking)
refund/end trial vpn
>>
>>728984245
none of this addresses the possibility that the files contain a signature that can later be used to identify OP as the leaker.
>>
>>728984245
Alright then, I’ll see what I can do. I’ll try to report back later this week, since I still need to think this through—I know how bad leaks like this are on the inside, so I’ve got a lot to consider. If I do get the balls to go through with it, I’ll do it your way and use the same image from the post so you all know it’s me.
>>
>>728984317
unless OP put their literal name or mac address somewhere it cant be traced to them
>>
>>728984604
are you trying to get them caught or are you just dumb? their employer could have written a signature into OP's copy of the files without their knowledge. it's very easy, i do this for a living.
>>
>>728984604
this
go for it OP, your friend will never find out

it's unity so i assume it's a shitty indie company who can't affford these measures
>>728983585
idk torrent it with tor?
>>
>>728983585
Q: How many people had access, and how much of a FUCK YOU rep does the publisher/dev have?

>>728984945
If you do it for a living, then you would also know what the smallest dev who would do such a thing is.
>>
>>728983585
Leak everything except for the exe.
People who know how unity works will be able to get it running.
>>
>>728984245
This man is a fed btw
>>
Copy the files using a fresh linux installation into another file system to scrape the metadata off and search your name or any plain text that can be traced back to you in the folder.

>>728985313
Yeah, but wouldn’t there be developer information in there that could accidentally expose sensitive details? I’m not a Unity guy—I’m a UE guy.
>>
>>728983585
Just use Google Drive, Mega, and Dropbox like a normal person
>>
just use qbtorrent with tor and sneed it here mate, i'll be more concerned how they'll be able to track you down because only a select few people had access to the build. maybe leak previous versions?
maybe leak an older version? recently during the korean leak the leaker sent email to the company saying "if you don't fix your security measures i'll leak all your customer data"-many are saying this is a way to avoid legal repurcussion by framing the case as whistleblowing or something. just to let you know

Just do it normaly and when they question just say "Why would I do that? I'm not stupid"
>>
>>728983585
Leak it on /pol/ if you want millions to see it.

OMG op is gonna leak half life 3.

Imagine not knowing how to make a fucking torrent. Not even being able to ask chadsneedpt to tell you how. Imagine being that fucking moronic and helpless.

i trust anon because he's my best friend :D
>>
to my knowledge the only games cancelled this year has been live service slop
fake and gay thread
>>
>>728987198
games that haven't been announced get cancelled all the time
>>
>>728987259
>>728987259
sure, though OPs game also looks like an indie game
even if there was some publisher oversight, it doesn't sound like he's a dev which would mean there's no real way for anything to be traced back to him specifically, even if he was contracted to work on it
I think OP screenshotted the files for a random unity indie game and is wasting everyone's time

you know what goes where
>>
>>728987259
OP already said it was publicly announced though.
>>
>>728983585
U know if u did that censor with a brush tool its opacity is only 99% so anyone could take ur img to a photo editor and take a peek whats under it :3

lewd.
>>
Hey anon, it's me your coworker. I'm gonna snitch
>>
>>728985272
>smallest dev who would do such a thing
retard indie devs routinely waste time on obfuscation and single player anti-cheat measures because they're dimwits so this isn't beneath the smallest of devs at all
>>
>>728983585
Nuking this thread
Btw op died
>>
>>728983585
Let's be honest: no one gives a fuck about your shitty game. Wait 15 years and then release it in a twitter post.
>>
>>728985458
Nice catch! You're absolutely right—sharp eye!
>>
Moot should make gay larping a bannable offense.
>>
>>728983585
Go to your local McDonald's and use their wifi to upload it from your phone while your eating (preferably when it's crowded)
Pay with cash there and wear a hood so their camera can't see your face
>>
>>728993417
Network traffic from your phone has identifying information
>>
>>728993501
Unless you're leaking gta 6 or the newest AAA slop an indie studio won't bother asking for those informations
Alternatively, buy a burner phone second hand
>>
Get a burner phone or second hand laptop at a pawn shop, buy either with cash
Transfer whatever the information it is you possess manually to either of them
Go to a place you don't particularly frequent and use whatever free wifi it has available
Make a torrent or upload it to some file hosting site that does not require an account
>>
>>728983585
Unless you're a tech savy and can look it for yourself there's a chance the game exe has a unique id the devs can tie to you. Wait a few years.
>>
>>728993217
moot is on vacation
>>
If a bunch of other team members live in your area, I'd say take a thumb drive to a public library computer? I've not been to libraries a lot so I dunno how feasible that really would be.
>>
>>728985567
king retard
>>
upload to the internet archive
use public wifi
upload to other places as backups
