Is it worth 30 buckaroos?
>>
I'd say get it for less on sale. It's more of Hades 1, I enjoyed the music and gameplay more but the plot was far less interesting to me.

I was enjoying it for a while but gradually, after not that long, I just stopped caring. I get that repetition is part and parcel when it comes to roguelikes but it went so far past what I was able to care about. And yeah the story is whatever, nothing special, nearly identical presentation to Hades 1 as well so that didn't help.

I found Hades 1 super repetitive too
>>
>>728985912
Meh, it's a "wait for a sale." Though I would suggest the first one more. Hades 2 is the classic, change the character and add 20% DEI work shit in. Though from what I have seen, they didn't fuck up the story too much just get rid of the male MC for a new strong independent girl boss who does mostly everything he does but is "better" cause reasons.

Hades 1 got egregiously bad with the grinding once you got to Heats

IIRC you had to do each Heat level separately to progress the story and at that point I gave up.

Why did the critics suck its dick?
>>
>>728985912
Fuck no.

Good track record of playable games. Has the "artsy gravitas" of pro VA in shit like bastion. And the right politics for skin color and trannies
>>
>>728985912
nigger what are you doing? its easy as fuck to pirate it.

Im not poor

no. but hades 1 is
>>
>>728985912
I had more fun with it overall than Hades 1 so I'd say yes.

>>728989134
Probably stopped playing after the Perseph reunion.
Imo going for max heat is the worst part of the game so that's what gave them such a good first impression.
>>
>>728989339
then just buy it
>>
>>728988625
Well that's not true at all. All you have to do is beat the final boss X times until the certain NPC after that boss makes a certain decision (you'll know, the credits will roll). Then you have to max out your relationship with Hades, the certain NPC, and Demeter. Cycle through deaths after that until the epilogue happens and the credits roll again. You can just die in the first room repeatedly to do this. It takes like 20+ cycles, though. Especially if there's lots of NPC dialogue that needs to be gone through. IMO it takes forever, but you can grind it out in a couple days.

He's one of the more based gods, along with Zeus and Poseidon
>>
>>728989339
Then why are you worried about 30$?
>>
does hades II do the thing hades did where the bosses gradually get more difficult the more you beat them? i hated that shit.
>>
>>728992478
You mean like the variants of the furies/lava dragon? No, all you get is Vow of Rivals(the Extreme Measures analogue)
>>
>>728992478
But that was good. These games need to throw a curveball every now and then to keep things interesting.
>>

Pirate, or wait for a sale if you really wanna buy it for whatever reason.
It's really not doing a good job at what the devs claim to be proud of. The whole making every run and dialogue feel unique, and the game taking notice of what you do and whatnot. It's simply at the level of a character having one extra line of dialogue, and it's not even something interesting, when a flag goes from false to true. And some characters have quests that end in a very unsatisfying wet fart.
Actual gameplay-wise it's okay but it's clear there isn't much thought into the weapons and their Aspects. Overall too repetitive.

I'm still mad about Dusa in Hades 1.
>>
>>728996079
And they fuck it up in the sequel again. Twice.
Both Arachne and Dora's questline ending is ass but the journey getting there is written poorly too. At least I wasn't as hopeful about them as I was about Dusa cause I like Zagreus more so I wasn't as invested in Melinoe. Mel is pretty cute though, I was fully expecting her to be some bitch that hates everyone before early access came out but she's more of an aloof sweet girl.

In terms of combat and run variety, it’s definitely a step above 1. Most of the aspects feel different enough to be worth playing through, even if each weapon has at least one ludicrously OP aspect, and builds generally feel less railroaded.
If the characters and interactions were what carried 1 for you, you should probably avoid it. It’s got a major problem of gate keeping the fun interactions until you’ve done around ten runs, and the main character only stops being bland after about 15. It gets better after that point, but it still never gets the feel of 1.
Music is overall similar quality, though god of the dead is still the best track.

pirated it and to be desu it's absolute trash
