Settings where high tech societies of some kind meet total collapse that leads to thousands of years passing before a medieval fantasy society appears and occasionally uncovers rare ancient technologies are the best settings. The only way to make it better is to make it a harem setting where there are too few men and too many desperate women all fighting for the privilege to be your emotional support onahole.

>>728987570It all goes back to pic related. Also, the original Ultima included a time machine and a shitty Star Wars inspired segment where you go to space and shoot TIE fighters. And the popularity of Ultima in Japan made the Japanese think that's just what Western fantasy was like which is why JRPGs are almost always science-fantasy.
