I played FFX about a year ago for the first time and despite finding the gameplay to be utter dogshit (for turn-based gameplay anyway) it still filled me with many moods that KH1 did at times. I dropped its lame ass gameplay after niggerslapping Seymour after the total Ronso village death.

Play FF2 if you're curious. It does have some cool stuff to it, and was honestly a rather ambitious game but it's also rather rough and doesn't really play like the others. In structure it was kind of ahead of its time though which is kind of cool.

I prefer 12 just because I really liked the gambit system. Shame the story felt so unfinished.
I can't really say I remember much of XII, much less played it. The main reason is because I played FFTA and recognize a lot of things from that game carried over to XII like the races and setting (I love Ivalice). I didn't like how the judges manipulated the combat and thought they were gonna bring that back or somehow make it worse.Vieras were a great additional to the franchise.

FFX has one of the most interesting settings in all of rpg history and one of the best party casts. Every single party member is highly memorable. Even the furry who barely talks.
I love FF10. And I also loved E33. I am certainly not hating on either, even if I might have a preference towards Final Fantasy. But couldn't you kind of sort of think of E33 as an FF10 from the perspective of Zanarkand? Like a reverse-FF10 of sorts. Where instead of getting booted out of Zanarkand at the start and then mingling with outsiders, it was simply played from the perspective of Zanarkand versus the world? Nah that's taking some surface level to mid level similarities and then stretching them far. But going off of vibes, Lumiere and Zanarkand have got similar energy.
