Someone better versed in jrpgs please explain the point of gating jobs late into the game.
Past the first couple dungeons it seems pointless to even try changing classes because it will take ages to catch up.
This is honestly even worse than when you pick up new party members after you've been using your squad for at least 10 hours already.
Who is seeing these offers and just chomping at the bit to swap out and set themselves back hours?

This game have time loops, you have to play it 3 or 4 times to get good ending, so you can (and must) grind

In the OG FF game to do this FF3 it was because Jobs were less long term investments and more puzzle roles intended for certain sections of the game, with the final set being the real endgame jobs for the most part.
Then in FF5 they made more jobs viable because people wanted to use roles for more than a single dungeon and it normalized the concept.
From there the way its balanced is either that you get all the jobs by at least the 2/3rds point, will cap out the early games jobs in time to move on, have those early game jobs be stepping stones to late game ones, or just frontload the late game jobs cool shit.
