Any good roleplaying games where you follow a prophecy and it isn't demonized for the sake of a lecture? I played this one, and it gave me a bad taste in my mouth when it promised me a prophecy and a clear sequence of events to follow, only to piss all over it.

Gerson also didn't play into the secret boss shit much and the ch 3. secret boss didn't even speak. All of this leaves us with very little theory fodder for chapter 5.-There weren't many major characters that people could latch on to. We had Tenna, yeah, but both the ch.3 secret boss and the ch.4 final boss are silent, and Gerson originally was a Deltarune character.tldr: Basically all of the biggest sections of the fandom have entered slumps that they likely won't get out of until at least chapter 5's release where people have rested off the fatigue and have more unknown territory to pull from.

Gaster himself (including the voice in the intro) is strongly associated with the number 666. "HELL" in Deltarune may refer to "the depths," where The Titans, The Knight and Gaster himself might reside, and this could also be FRIEND's origin.The Organikks speak of "The tale which must be followed." (the Prophecy) and directly contrast it with "The tail which must not be followed." This frames FRIEND as in opposition to The Prophecy and a force of "freedom" from its narrative, which agrees with FRIEND likely being the Shadow Mantle holder who indirectly helps Kris work toward getting the Shadow Crystals."The tail which must not be followed" is also referring to another line from an Organikk NPC in Chapter 4's hidden Egg Room and also highlighted by the Spamton Sweepstakes: "Lost where the forest would grow, the children followed the pointed tail. The poor children!"This heavily implies that FRIEND was somehow responsible for leading Dess and Kris astray, leading to Dess's disappearance and Kris being traumatized (with the "Art Therapy" Egg Room in the same area). This same area also features the enigmatic "ROOTS" prophecy, simply depicting a house surrounded by trees.All of this suggests that FRIEND is not just a creepy Darkner but has somehow been a central agent in Deltarune's conflict from the start.
