We don't. It's artfags who realize that they can be replaced with software and now they are shitting themselves because spending 10 or 20 years of their lives drawing was a waste of time.

I don't hate technology, i hate how its used by some people.
Drawing is not a waste of time and it never will be, its my meditation, something i love to do. Do you think everyone started drawing to earn money? The amount of joy I get when drawing is immeasurable compared to prompting. Anyway AI will never create my stuff, it can only try to mock it. Also i can't be replaced either since I'm independent.

I don't know how you can say something so retarded without feeling like an idiot. "A weighted average of inputs" doesn't even make any sense, that won't yield anything meaningful. The inputs embeddings go through a fuckton of non-linear functions for one and a weighted average is a simple linear function on the inputs so that's already fucking retarded.

If you can't explain what you're trying to say with math, you don't actually understand it and you're using a nigger tier pseudo-understanding just to make yourself feel better.

>Do you think everyone started drawing to earn money?
The artfags that are having a tantrum did. They like to draw so kept practicing, maybe even majored to turn it into a career. But their dream is a cushy 6 figure position where all they do is sit in meetings and drawing pictures for big projects and those entry level concept artists are the first to go when AI inevitably improves. Right now it's only good for reference designs, and it probably will never be good enough to generate textures but concept art will absolutely go away.
>>
>>728991984
I see you wanted a "posted it again" award. But there's still no explanation as to what that even means.
>>
>>728992424
>AI is just cobbling shit together and people that use it don’t even have the decency to clean up the stuff it gets wrong in post.
That's the crux of the problem with AI. It's not so much the LLM itself.
It's the people using it and not giving a single fuck to check things for correctness, or to touch up mistakes it made.

Generative AI is fine as e.g. a sparring partner for plot ideas, or rough drafts. It's fine as a way to produce an initial first pass in remastering and upscaling old textures, so an artist will only have to correct a few small parts manually afterwards.

It's NOT fine to just let it do the entire build pipeline, kick back, and watch the money roll-in on zero-effort-spent slop being pushed out to your clients.

We've seen this cycle before.
New tech promises to make things easier and faster, leading to more of it and lower prices right?
Wrong, it just means more people lose their jobs, and the prices stay the same in spite of the lower effort put into making it.

It a negative to those who actually work on making things, a neutral to consumers(sometimes negative due to lack of quality control), and only a positive for publishers and execs at the upper end.

Any time you see "new tech allows something to be made faster and with less effort", know that thousands, or hundreds of thousands, of people are about to lose their jobs and the product you hope will become cheaper will not change in price relative to income. If anything, it'll just continue to go up, and your rate of poverty will outpace your rate of income.
