The smaller spinoffs and remakes don't affect it much, but main titles can cause serious long term damage if it sucks. If the game is bad, it doesn't only sell bad itself, but the next title, despite how good it actually is, suffers reduced sales as well. Conversely, if the game is good, the next game will still sell well, even if it sucks cock.

DQ12 was rumored to be restarted twice, been hearing similar reports for FF9. KH4 and FF7R3 need to come out strong.With all these private equity vultures now circling in they're forced to up their game. Though I wonder what becomes of DQ after 12.
