Is there a good current, well supported and moddable game out there that plays like how Settlers II or III used to play? All the modern ones have been a bit shite, and with it being Christmas time I'm getting nostalgic remembering years gone by of playing Settlers II on the family PC beside the Christmas tree, stuffing my little kid face with chocolate.

Anon if modern games felt like Settlers II, then gaming be in a good state... kinda...That being said, as comfy as Settlers II is, it really is unplayable either due A.I softlocking you (military units get stuck permanently on map) or there's not enough resources to complete certain map.Its a very flawed beautiful game

The OG Settlers games and Populous games are so fucking kino it's unreal.
>>729008703>successful game about managing roads and supply routes>delete all roads in the sequelswhat did they mean by this?
Just play the originals? 4 plays like 3. 7 is good, tooThere’s a ‘spiritual sequel’ (Pioneers of Pagonia) but it’s extremely soulless and boring.Timberborn or its clones (Whiskerwood) feel a bit like Settlers
>>729008831>Soul successfully removedThose building sprites are just awful.Since it's open source project someone would clearly make alternative sprites, right?
>>729009158Wiskerwood looks pretty neat, I'll give that a punt.
i recently started playing these games again. played 2, now i finished the campaigns for 3, to see if it's still good as a i rememberi still think it's good. but, it's fucking slow. it's so fucking slow. 3 really is good, but the pace and the awful AI kind of bring it down. i also tried to play 4 a bit, but it seems like basically the same exact game
I don't think I've played these, should I try 2? I like Caesar 3, Majesty, etc.
>>729011595Yeah, at least give it a try. It's fairly unique
