Steam is full of shovelware and impossible to parse through, online discussions are dominated by what's popular at the moment and youtubers talk about old games
I don't. It's not my job to find your game. If you cannot into marketing then fuck off
>>729014852It's not for YOU to find the game, but the game to find YOU
>>729014852https://buried-treasure.org/ has some nice gems from time to time. There's also YouTube channels dedicated to new indie releases. Searching "indie games december 2025" and stuff like that gives you a few videos.
>>729014852It depends what you're looking for.
>>729014852i dont think steam's recommendation engines are that bad. the interactive recommender can throw up interesting titles if you tweak it right. same with that new calendar thing. I haven't found many good curators on steam but finding people who can play that curation role is really helpful. Friends or whatever that have similar tastes as you who you mutually share recs with. Sometimes content people, people with blogs or youtube channels or whatever.
>>729014852Browsing pirate sites, no joke. They'll showcase anything remotely interesting.>>729015946>https://buried-treasure.org/I like the idea, but John Walker is a worthless unprofessional manic-depressive woke cunt and an exemplar of everything wrong with games journalism.
>>729014852from me, right now.premise: a web exploration game where you (a contractor) and a government agent dig through a starving alien biocomputerhttps://corru.observer/go in as blind as possible.there is a lot of side content, do not look up anything about the game until you're certain you've found as much as you can.

>>729014852/v/ sometimes, if you ignore all the twitter ragebait threads. People are into all kinds of shit. I don't know what your threshold for what "hidden" is, but there have been games with <500 reviews that had quasi-generals for a while. Also demos, Next Fest is great since people will try out dozens and dozens of demos and filter out the pure shovelware.

>>729014852Use a random number generator in Excel to pick 2 letters from the alphabet then go to igggames game list and ctrl+f the two letters I got, if the results are over 100 I input a 3rd letter until the results are less than 100, I then check every game that catches my eye in youtube preferably 15+ minute long gameplay videos and skip to the middle of the video to see real gameplay, if the real gameplay looks good enough I compare it to the other ones that I get in the selection until I narrow down 1 game which is the one that I download and play.Is the only way you can come across shit like Dungeon drafters, Hypnagogia, HunterX, Hakoniwa explorer plus, and Spelunker party, they are all good games, but they are all obscure as shit so it is unlikely you will run into them casually.
