I'm just glad we got normal mouse designs back.

No clue why mine died. It had phantom clicks and the rmb would stop working sometimes.
Similarly, i had a razer keyboard that would either not type or would double type.
swapped to shit that doesnt have stupid fucking software that wouldnt sabotage its self when you dont install it.

>No clue why mine died. It had phantom clicks and the rmb would stop working sometimes.
Extremely common problem with logitech mice post-2015
>>
>>729019810
The scroll wheel having the shitty rubber coating instead of matching plastic of the rest of the mouse is a huge downside.
I hate cleaning that thing off and the stickier rubber pulls shit down into the mouse with it.
>>
>>729020420
and funnily enough logitech mice are still the only ones worth buying. i fucking hate this shit
>>

>>
>>729020420
cleaning usually solves it. hiroshima it with some contact cleaner and it's good as new

Not remotely true. Just about any other brand is better than logitech and razer.
>>

I'm at the point where I just use a Logitech B100 overclocked to 500hz and a Unicomp I found at goodwill that I fixed.

The right click thing seems to be an issue in media player classic. I bought another mouse to replace mine but it works fine in everything but that. Something to do with the refresh rate instantly disabling the menu. I'm also using madvr.
You have to be a fucking moron to buy anything but the cheapest mouse.

I have mice, keyboards, soap, deodorant all in bulk so I never have to buy them ever again.

I used alcohol to clean the switches just in case it was somehow dirty under them. Even though it was only a year old.

gen 2 mice are pretty great.
3395 versions cost about 40 on their site, and gen2 has webdrivers.

Blowing works temporarily only because it introduces moisture.
Why it actually happens is because the switches aren't rated for the low power levels that the modern chips and PCBs operate on, and break themselves. They corrode easily and end up with bad contacts and springs.
Logishit at some point bought a million billion cheap shit Chinese Omrons, shoved them in a warehouse and took like 10 years to use them all up. Internals got upgraded, but the switches stayed the same so when wireless rolled around and everything started using the new, modern low power controllers they all started to have double clicking issues.

Only real fix is new switches that are rated to be used on a low power board.
>>
>>729020347
I'm not expecting my g305 to last that long but I'm okay with it since it only cost 20 dollars and maybe all I'll have to do is replace a switch or two

>>729024862

>>729025284
Those issues are people refusing to adapt to the form-factor, in my opinion. A couple days' adjustment period and my performance in TF2 and Deep Rock Galactic was back up to normal, using one of those shitty TECKNET mice on Amazon before moving up to a DeLUX M618XSD and then to a Keychron M5.

>>729020940
>Are there any other options that are better?
yes, for keyboards, get magnetic keyboards, i.e. keyboards with hall effect switches
for mice, get ones with optical switches

the shit that becomes flaky over time are shit that uses physical contacts like traditional button switches.
so naturally switches that dont rely on physical contacts will be immune to issues like that - magnetic, optical, etc.

They lasted for-fucking-ever too.
A decade ago my kid brother found a discarded one in a cupboard in the comp sci classroom of his school:
>"Wasn't this one of those things you loved and couldn't get hold of any more?"
I've been using it daily, ever since, and not until a month ago the RMB input started to get a little flaky: Single presses are no problem but holding it down is wobbly, but that's only a problem in TPSs so I'm bearing with it for now. I mean, what the hell am I gonna replace it with?

>smallest is still 38 mm tall

That's way too high. You don't need height for claw/fingertip, you don't rest your hand on the mouse. All it does is bump into your palm when moving the mouse down.
Thousands of companies trying to make high performance gaming mice and 9/10 of them don't understand basic ergonomics.
I don't think they do actual tests with multiple players with different grips, they all just copy each other without thought.

If it's actually a joystick, sure.
Those small keyboards with analogue sticks are a good idea since for 3D movement you want a stick but all of them are just sticks/pads glued ontop of a dpad.

For a mouse, I think it would be weird to control my character with my right hand.

I'm a fingertip-fag so I use the greatest fingertip grip mouse ever conceived by bugmen of the east. The G-Wolves Fenrir Asym with sapphire skates for 22 grams of pure speed..
I sure hope you use the matching Endgame Gear Cordura pad for maximum speed and consistency with either ceramic or sapphire skates (glass is acceptable but you have to clean them occasionally unlike ceramic or sapphire). https://www.endgamegear.com/en-us/mousepads/MPC
All these chumps spending big bucks on glass pads when Cordura is objectively the best mouse pad material known to man. Water proof and oil proof, you just wipe it down once every 6 moths at most. Never develops slow spots, frays or wears. Just need hard skates and you're permanently consistent forever.

PTFE will always be trash and no amount of tweaking to the literal cancer causing plastic will make up the massive gulf in quality between PTFE skate on glass and hard skates on cordura. There is no world in which it could ever bridge the gap. Making the comparison is comical at best. Try out some cermaic, sapphire or glass skates on your cordura pad. It will change you life. You may even weep at all the time you've wasted on chasing the perfection that was right there in front of you all along.
