It would be good to start at Trails in the Sky, not an entirely separate branch like that Especially with the remake of 1st Chapter (or you can play the original with the Evo mods for JP audio and other upgrades) and with 2nd Chapter coming next year (if they're doing that I hope they get 3rd to show up even faster so the entire remade Sky trilogy will be available). The story is long running basic shounen carried by fan service of recurring characters in previous games. MC is anime harem protagonist. Gameplay is spam the same shit every turn. Text is mostly skippable, side quests are mostly filler and time wasting. There's a ton of npc side characters which they try to make matter but I don't care about them. Dungeon after dungeon. I swear every boss fight against another human involves winning the fight, losing in the cutscene then getting dues ex machina saved by someone or something else. This series is the epitome of "1000 hours played - not recommended".
