>chatgpt says 720p upscaled to 1080p will look a lot better than 720p upscaled to 4k
what's the fucking point of dlss upscaling then if internal resolution doesn't offer the same quality to all output resolutions? What's so intelligent and smart about that deep learning upscaling?
>>
what makes you think that 720p upscaled to 1080p and 4k would be same quality lol
>>
you're stretching that to 4x as many pixels
>>
>>729020652
Why the fuck would upscaling to 4k from 720p not look worse than upscaling from 720p to 1080p? Are you retarded?
>>
>>729020890
It's the same amount of information! Of course traditional scaling would look worse at 4k, but intelligent should be so much better!
>>
>>729020920
You're not stretching anything you stupid fucking idiot, you're upscale it using artificial intelligence
>>
>>729021068
IT SHOULDN'T LOOK WORSE BECAUSE YOU'RE WORKING WITH THE SAME AMOUNT OF INFORMATION
>>
>>729021924
imagine folding sheet of paper and stabbing pen through it.
but if you fold 4 sheets of paper and stab pen through it.
it's not as easy as it was with 1 sheet of paper

That's the problem, it's the same amount of base information, but you're transplanting it into a medium that requires way more information. DLSS tries to fill the missing gaps, but at 720p > 4k you're dealing with way, way more fake information than 720p > 1080p. It's not difficult to understand this concept. The artifacts will be more visible at 720p > 4k than they are visible at 720p > 1080p.
>>
>>729021974
it's an allegory dumbass
there's a big difference when you're telling it to turn 1 pixel into 9 as opposed to 4 into 9
>>
>>729020652
dlss is optional. you're angry about a feature you don't have to use

ChatGPT is wrong. I don't care to waste time explaining this stuff but I have a lot of experience testing it out because I own a major youtube tech channel testing this stuff out and it keeps me from having an actual job. With FSR4/DLSS-T the output res is arguably more important than the input res in terms of quality. 719p to 720p will look like ass because 720p looks like ass at current screen sizes, while 1080p upscaled to 4k has the potential to look great despite the aggressive upscale happening - simply because it being 4k output has a lot to do with the final quality

Now this is podgaming.

That's the most irrelevant piece of shit of the day

The harder you make an upscaler work, the more it starts to make mistakes. 720p to 1080p is a cakewalk, so while it might be a bit fuzzy due to the low output resolution, it will be cohesive. 720p to 4k and the upscaler has to make stuff up to fill out that 4k, filling your screen with artifacts and nonsense pixels.
>>729022693
You're correct within reason, and it's technically a matter of taste, but I think even with the new Transformer a 720 to 4k is a bridge to far, to the point that a blurrier 1080p output would be preferable.
>>
>>729022470
You mean 1 into 9 as opposed to 1 into 4. What's so hard,? If it imagined the 4, then it can imagine the 9
>>
>>729022693
What's your YouTube channel? I want to see more

>but I think even with the new Transformer a 720 to 4k is a bridge to far,
it is a bridge too far, yes. no matter how good the newest upscaling models are, if you try to push them too hard by lowering the input resolution into nothinginess they'll break and won't produce good results. for 4k i think you shouldn't go under 900p input resolution if you want the end result to look fine
>>
>>729022940
720p to 2160p is 1 into 9
720p to 1080p is 4 into 9
you're making up shit from 1/4 of the information
>>
>>729022767
you leave those games on your wishlist and play them 20 years later when they can be bought for $1 and the cheapest graphics card of that time runs them at 300fps
>>
>>729023092
Wrong. You're making up More shit from the same amount of information
>>
>>729023197
Graphics cards age like fine wine and only get more expensive with time.
>>
>>729020652
ChatGPT is fucking retarded, its source of information is using random reddit comments and treating them as gospel.
