But I did play new games
ENA
Deltarune
Hollow Knight Silksong

They were fun
>>
>>729020810
You have to remember that all statistics are skewed by things like normalfags who only play maybe 2-3 games a year and autists who only play 1 game for 60,000 hours.
>>
>>729020810
they keep releasing multimillion dollar flops like or indie games like >>729020921 but indie games don't have multi hundred hour playtime unless you're a speedtranny whose axewound tingles whenever they play the same game 200 times in a row.
>>
You know why.
>>
>>729020810
The last new game I bought was Digimon Story Time Stranger.
The last new game before that was Palworld.

People like >>729020921 will play 2000 hours of video games in a year but spend 30 of those hours playing new releases and then claim that they love playing new games.

Unironically: Which game from 2025 do you want to buy for full price and play ?
>>
>>729020810
For me it was 70% new.
Which kind of makes sense I guess since most of my non-new games I play on consoles or through GOG or stand-alone installs.

i just dont fucking care about new games with 1000 good fucking games in my steam library alone
Weakest cheapest GPU today can drive 90% of my library
I WON

>AAA games are full of Denuvo and/or rootkit-tier DRM
>most AAA games are unoptimized pieces of shit that need AI upscaling and "fake frames" to be playable on anything less than an overclocked 5090, and even that's not a given
>prices going up despite no visible increase in quality
>prices going up despite games being loaded up with more and more DLC
>retro/"retro" games are on the rise lately
>old-ish gacha games are on the rise too
>consoomerfags that'd normally hoover up all the new games are instead moving to buy a Switch 2 to then pay extra for ports because the NS2 has nogaems (like Sony) and Xbox
>most new games suck, or are outright garbage-tier flops
>fewer new games in general because most of the high-budget shit flopped or got delayed, or both, and devs are getting itchy
>people being more broke than usual and finally starting to work on their backlogs
>more people just watching streamers and Youtubers instead of playing the games themselves
TL;DR: they all suck and they're overpriced.

For me, not only do I not play new games, I've been playing fuckloads of older games on my chinkheld instead.

If you're referring to that "leak", then lol, lmao, I don't think THIS game was on the leak: (pic related)
You know Timmy's in trouble when the big daily Christmas giveaway has been completely ass so far.

Because if you check Steam stats right now you'll see that most of the top played games are older multiplayer games like cs2 and Apex with BF6 and Arc being the only 2025 games
>>
this year was the first year I finally tackled a chunk of my backlog, so nothing that came out in the last five years or so got played

Is Kirby Air Riderswas on PC with free online multiplayers, then maybe that. Otherwise... I'd probably buy silksong if I hadn't yet to finish hollow knight.

>>
>>729020810
Too expensive and they SUCK, like yeah great plan guys, make games cost $80 and start using AI to make your games for you, that totally won't backfire spectacularly.
>>
Because everyone is poor and PC gaming is becoming increasingly expensive
>>
>>729026998
i am broke? sorry but me even thinking of playing the game means i support them. old school Blizzard had me playing their games on pirate servers before i paid for retail. Then new school blizzard decided that pirate servers do not need to exist and i decided that blizzard does not need to exist.
I may pirate it now but pay for it in the future.

ill rather gen images than play slop
>>
>>729020810
Average purchase price is $30, market has rejected full price games when it's full of free to play games for zoomers and prices get cut after 2 months now. GTA VI will be the only game this gen worth buying new and only because it has to help justify the console generation
>>
Why do journos make it sound like it's a tragedy? 14% doesn't sound bad to me in the age of gaas

>GTA VI will be the only game this gen worth buying new and only because it has to help justify the console generation
If you're a braindead zoomer/gen alpha toddler that is
>>
>>729028202
Agreed, are zoomies so perplexed by the idea of playing a game that's more than 1 year old
>>
>>729020810
Probably A) because there aren't many good ones that came out this year, B)Because they can't afford to buy many new games and C)Because they have so many games to play.
>>
>>729025079
Doesn matter and doesnt change the point
its $5 steam
you don't need to buy anything you can just let whole industry collapse on itself and restart.
WE have the power
>>
>>729020810
New games are all UE5 goyslop with shader compilation stutter for pajeet shill consoomer paypiggies with buyer's remorse like E33 and Dispatch.
>>
>>729020810
Steam playtime is most likely dominated by long-running MMOs. Thats actually a pretty good number.
>>
Because outside of like 6 or 7 solid indie games that come out each here (disregarding the first post in this thread that is just a mentally ill faggot playing fotm garbage) they are almost universally dogshit.
>>
>>729022912
Swords and sandals 3 redux and heroes of hammerwatch 2, I guess.
>>
>>729020810
Look at the top games on steam, of course that's the case.

It's a combination of things, isn't it? Sure you get a new game here and there, but there's a lot of things that factor into how much someone would want to play a new game.

>New indie game?
If it's not some roguelike time waster/time vampire meant to have infinite play time, you're gonna move on.
>Price?
Big AAA games are $70. People don't want to spend that much on a game they won't spend that much time on.
>Performance?
A lot of those big AAA games run like shit and require pretty powerful hardware just to run comfortably at 1080p. Most of Steam's on a 3060 or 4060.
>What if it's actually good?
Then it's one of those few big games that people actually want to play, but again, it's not gonna have infinite playtime except for a select few people. Everyone's moving back to their usuals that came out years ago, singleplayer or multiplayer.

The truth is, most new games are fucking bad. Or they take like 20 patches before they become somewhat serviceable. People are rightfully telling these new games to fuck off.
>>
>>729022912
one I want is a remake so it's not even a valid choice, kek
