It's not a critical memory, but an enjoyable one nonetheless. I love you, Mom.

I'm gonna out myself as a zoomer with this one but when I was 10 or so in 2013 my older brother was a football player and so we'd always go to his games every friday night of each football season week. I remember I would go there and spend the whole time hanging out with my friends from school who also came to the games, we'd hang out under the bleachers and like steal people's dropped money off the ground and shit. After the game ended I'd usually have a couple of my friends come over back to my house since it was the weekend. We'd all play Skyrim on the Xbox 360 together, like take turns and shit.

Pretty much the only post-WotLK music I can remember at all are the new Orgrimmar music and the Pandaria inn theme, and only because they're both godawful to the point of being an active detriment to my enjoyment of the game.

definitely playing Ocarina of Time with my cousin and uncle. I stayed at their house over the summer and it felt like an entire era of my life. I don't think I could put into words how much I cherish those memories.

a funny part of that era was my cousin (a very effeminate and emotional kid) crying while fighting ganondorf. He could not get the timing down on the ball of lightning he shoots at you. He was like crying his eyes out and then would pathetically become elated when he parried one, and then revert back into crying when he got hit again. Me and my aunt were cracking up.

>Comfy
hard tossup between two specific scenarios.

One was playing KH2 Final Mix the first time through an emulator. Played the shit out of KH2 on my PS2 growing up and was mad whenever I saw all the cool shit the japs were getting in FM. Must have set this up around the time of my birthday or soon afterward because I was gifted a few exotic deserts. Great time.

The other would have been a few years ago. I got Covid around December leading up to Christmas. Wasn't the worst sickness but was overall zoned out a bunch from it and medication, couldn't attend a lot of end-of-year celebrations for work and volunteer places so I stayed in and marathoned Breath of the Wild and a bunch of bad Christmas/Comedy movies. It's since become a tradition I do every couple years in picking up a really long sandbox game.

It would go to Warframe.

>Me and my friend needed to take on Profit Taker (the giant spider boss on Pluto)
>We fly, around, searching for it, eventually find it
>Once we find it, we perch upon a high peak nearby
>It was snowy and cold. The spider was just below, not knowing we were there, the echoes of its voice barely reaching us
>But rather than start the fight we assumed our sitting animations and just decided to... talk
>We talked for a while, with the spider rampaging below, the sounds it made merging with the sounds of the winter planet
>I think we talked about the new update or something. Maybe about modding. Can't recall now, just that, for some reason, that moment felt oddly cool to me
>Then, when we were done talking, we stood up, jumped, swooped down in sync and began the battle with Profit Taker

It was both comfy and cool at the same time. Later on, I recognized it had the same energy as those pictures where a band of heroes take pause before a battle with a giant kaiju. Only I was taking part in it.

The game somehow managed to evoke this feeling perfectly. A flash in the pan, but one I still remember.

instead of mass replying 20 times, I wanna say that I'm glad seeing some people have some comfy memoirs to enjoy and fall back to

growing up rather poor I don't really relate to anything written here, with the exception of doing a "neighbourhood hero" deed by being the first to afford shit, and sharing with friends

it was kind of to the end of high schoolness so for most people it was a bittersweet "nice, I finally got to play some vidya" before they moved on to big boy business. Most have families now, tho most are almost fully back to poverty aswell

I've just lost one of my cat last week and fuck, my remaining cat is howling in my house during the night, looking at her. It's so sad and i'm not even sure she understood that the other cat was ill.

Playing xbox at my friends place. I didn't have one so i played all the xbox games with him. Halo, XIII, battlefront, demo disks. To this day he was the only friend i ever had that i hung out with to play games with. We stopped hanging out when i got into pot and started hanging out with metal kids and weirdos. His parents didn't like that. He was as normal as you could get and so were his parents. He moved eventually and i made new artsy friends in bands that live downtown that i party with and go to weird places. None of them like games the way I do. Still like nothing more than playing a cool game.

Some anons will trash on me, but playing RDR2, Monster Hunter World, and shadows of war during my junior year of high school was the epitome of happiness for me. I enjoyed so much. I was just happy during 2018 overall. Being 16 old, finally making friends and meeting new people after years of isolation and “bullying” from my peers, who now liked me and respected me. Guess we all just matured during High School. things were only getting better and better. Havent talked/seen none of them in years (yes Im back at being an isolated lonelly fuck). Aside from gta6 and RE9 I havent felt excited for any new game really… sucks to grow up
