Super Mario RPG was peak comfy.
When I got pokemon red and played it alongside the strategy guide the game came with. It was one of the first games I played that was more like a real adventure instead of a linear side scroller. It wasn't just the game being fun though, it was also me fantasizing that one day I would go out in the real world too, making friends, experiencing things, meeting cute girls... none of that ever happened to me of course.

The spider was just below, not knowing we were there, the echoes of its voice barely reaching us>But rather than start the fight we assumed our sitting animations and just decided to... talk>We talked for a while, with the spider rampaging below, the sounds it made merging with the sounds of the winter planet>I think we talked about the new update or something. Maybe about modding. Can't recall now, just that, for some reason, that moment felt oddly cool to me>Then, when we were done talking, we stood up, jumped, swooped down in sync and began the battle with Profit TakerIt was both comfy and cool at the same time. Later on, I recognized it had the same energy as those pictures where a band of heroes take pause before a battle with a giant kaiju. Only I was taking part in it. The game somehow managed to evoke this feeling perfectly. A flash in the pan, but one I still remember.
