>>729037751It's a great ambitious mess, I think the balance and encounters are absolutely fucked compared to the first game, it feels like you either break the game 3 hours in or are weak the entire game. But it feels legitimately interesting and like its own weird take on star wars, I also think its one of the more hostile feeling RPGs I have played, not in like the combat or whatever, but tonally it feels like you can never actually relax, no place is truly safe, you couldn't just hide on some backwater shit hole if you wanted, the galaxy is the most apocalyptic I think star wars has ever felt, everything feels like its on the verge of collapse, reminds me of the first mad max. It's also one of the few RPGs where I don't feel silly doing sidequests, because they do a good job of making it feel like the universe and the force are this woven network of strings that you are constantly going around and pulling or unraveling, giving the beggar money might actually have a butterfly effect

Revan got all the glory, but people like the Exile and Bao-Dur had to live with the consequences of what happened. Jedi as these empaths who can be fundamentally changed down to their soul by extreme-scale traumatic events is a really fascinating idea. it was just a really imaginative, inventive take on Star Wars. probably the most creative the franchise had been since the original post-RotJ EU. plus Chris Avellone is just a GOATed writer. really glad he finally got uncancelled.
