>Finally decide to play Baldurs Gate 3
>Create a Paladin character
>Come across two actual, literal demons from hell
>Kill them
>Penalized for 'breaking an oath', aka going against RP
What?
>>
>>729035278
Demons don't come Hell, they come from the Abyss. Devils come from Hell.
Tieflings are descendants of devils mixing with humans or humans who made deals with devils, they aren't actually devils themselves.
Technically they are "from Hell" in the sense the city they lived in was dragged into Hell by an archdevil, but usually when you say someone is from somewhere it is where they were born, where they grew up, or where they currently live in the event they are traveling.
>>
>>729035278
Yeah I remember when /vpol/ used to spam this back when the game came out
>>
>>729035278
haha, same mistake.
I just restart a new game/save
>>
>>729035278
your fault for buying that norwegian fetish simulator.
>>
>>729035480
In the short span of me playing the game I already I already came across one of them carrying a soul trapped in a coin, one enticing me to gamble, and two of them trying to scam me.

Wherever they are from, they are clearly evil and they should all be killed.

Dude, the normal looking girl you are traveling with is FAR worse.
>>
I'm surprised you can't kill them after they discuss murdering a helpless unarmed frog.
>>
>>729036610
She's not a demon though, is she
>>
>>729036358
Yeah that's fair.
>>
>>729035278
Tieflings are not demons, nor are they from hell. You are a 70 iq paladin who is simply racist.
>>
>>729036618
You can though.
>>
>>729036776
Worse, she's basically an end of the world satanist who actively participates in massacres and orgies.
>>
>>729036856
Then how did OP fuck up?
>>
>>729036358
That's because every stereotype against thieflings is true but if you act on the truth you're racist and thus lawful evil
>>
>>729036859
Her cult dogma is insane. They basically worship suffering and deprivation. Like their most devoted members are thankful to have their senses removed and be imprisoned.
>>
>>729036805
There would be less complaints here if there was an oath of racism. Now there's a mod idea.
>>
>>729036805
>Uhm uhm the humanoids with red skin, claws, horns, a devil's tail and who commit the 7 deadly sins in the first 2 hours of the game aren't demons, they're actually thieflings; which is a totally different thing.
>>
>my fantasy world needs to be a perfect mirror of my real world politics and beliefs
This shit is pathetic, and you're the /pol/fag version of the schizos trying to push combat wheelchairs and other disability bullshit in fantasy settings. You are mental cripples.

What an ugly ass fucker looking character
>>
>>729037121
Just because you can kill someone doesn't mean you are justified in doing so. They are holding a member of a species that is known to be actively hostile to other races after one of their friends was killed by a member of that species. They are proven right as well because if you free her she will ask you to help kill them, and if you don't she becomes hostile to you. They aren't even the ones who captured her technically, she just got caught in a goblin trap.
>>
>>729035278
paladins are inherently good. they can have a range of gods, and their powers are bound to the oath they swore themselves too. you don't get penalized for being good or bad, you get penalized for breaking your oath.

but you knew this, you just want to post a bullshit thread because you are a tranny loving faggot.
>>
Nothing wrong with playing an oathbreaker in BG3. Synergizes super well with hexblade.
>>
>>729035278
If you had gone a bit further you'd meet a paladin that is literally serving a devil but still able to use divine powers. BG3 is made for 5e fans and 5e is made for retards
>>
>>729037495
>They are proven right
Doesn't matter. Justice can only be served after the crime is committed. Preemptively killing someone because they might do something is called murder. It may be justified but it isn't justice.

Christian moms were right about Dungeons & Dragons

Talk about being mentally crippled...
>>
>>729037738
They don't kill her though, if you never have that encounter she manages to escape when they presumably fuck off or die. You can convince them to leave, or convince them to help you kill her, but they won't naturally try to harm her themselves. They won't release her on their own either, for the reasons I listed, but I think it is understandable to not actively do something that will likely lead to your own death.
>>
>>729037306
If your basis for murder is whether or not a character has sinned, you should genocide every npc in the game.
>>
>>729038113
My basis for killing is whether or not a character is evil, which demons are in my book
>>
>>729037951
Yeah, the humanity gives them the ability to be more. They aren't tied to the plane of Hell the way a devil is. They DO have a natural proclivity towards evil, though strangely enough not towards being lawful, but it isn't set in stone the way it is for a devil.
>>
>>729036358
Sounds like your idea of "evil" comes from the morals of Christianity, and not the morals of the deity your Paladin swore an oath to. Dumb fuck
>>
>>729038985
Humanity isn’t a concept in D&D though. The offspring of evil fiends and evil humans are, somehow, not intrinsically evil.
>>
>>729039463
It is though, humans make the concept of humanity.
Again, because they aren't bound to a plane of evil they don't have to be evil. And again, they often lean towards evil because of their fiendish blood, but the human blood allows them to be something else. You also have to remember that they could be many generations removed from whatever devil progenitor they have, even those that aren't likely aren't given any parenting from the devil either.
>>
>>729035278
NuD&D has made tieflings incredibly gay. Talk about running a mildly interesting concept into the ground. Now they're a boring racism allegory
>>
>>729035278
moral relativism killed RPGs
apparently I'm evil for not letting squatters stay inside a guy's house
>>
>>729036358
Oy very, that's not very kosher of you, goyim
>>
>>729036358
I take it you’re not a christian then. Your morality system aligns more with muslim or jewish traditions.

Encouraging them is jewish, yes, but also immediately wanting them dead the second any of them show signs of wanting you to join them is equally Jewish. Specifically talmudic.
