As someone with diagnosed auts and in the same boat as you, you didn't have the proper support from your parents and mentors, or you lacked mentors altogether. When you see other artists in stem they always had the means to pursue those fields and they also came from families in those fields, or had mentors pushing them towards stem. I grew up without a father, with a bpd mother, and I had no mentors throughout my school life. It wasn't until I got into coding in my late twenties that I started to be able to put math in relation to coding, and suddenly bit by bit it started making sense and I fell in love with it.

You need to put math in relation to applicable use cases in order for it to make sense.
