I don't know abou Gears, but a couple of the cod games supported that. You could also use xlink to emulate system link over the Internet.

Didn't those games have native LAN support? What's the point of the online match? Or are you trying to play with a friend that still has a 360 online?

Yeah, why not? Also I'm pretty sure Gears 2 doesn't have 4 player co op that isn't Horse, but I might be wrong.

And like another anon mentioned, you can system link 360 and xbone. BUT some games have issues with it, I specifically remember Halo 4 crashes on backwards compatibility or can't find the lobby when trying system link off an xbone, can't remember. Same thing with GRAW
