This game's writing is really cringe worthy when you replay it as an adult. It's like it tries too hard
>>729053084never got his revenge on Sinclair until (you) roll through and complete the heist for him. you can avoid making him hostile by not accidently being too competent but he deserves to die mad for being such a petty bitch.
That DLC is one of the worst experiences in all of gaming.
That DLC is one of the best experiences in all of gaming.
>>729056169This. I imagine Raul would roast the shit out of Dean and then kill him without any second thought.
>>729055873>replay it as an adultZoomer-kun...
>>729055873I'm glad that modern games don't try at all.
>>729056354But enough about Shadow of the Erdtree...
Not his fault Sinclair was a simp and he saw weakness
>>729055873I still think it's pretty good. It perfectly ilustrates how Dean is a psycho who is unable to let go even after 200 years of him getting cucked.
Well, A.D.D., primarily, but also life, Sinclair, this casino, western civilization, but really, honestly, enough about me.
Dead money was unironically the best part of the game for me. The rest of it was wandering around a boring desert with very terrible gunplay and no hint of what to scavenge for and no where safe to store it unless you search it up. The second best part of the game is getting the shotgun knockdown perk, running up to a deathclaw after blasting it onto it's back and using VATS for the headshot.
>>729053084he couldnt let go
>>729058157Yeah if a game doesn't literally play itself, it's shit.
>>729053084Made me look into dead money summary, been forever since I played it, sometimes I forget how brutal the behind the scenes lore is for the older games.>royce getting throat reconstruction surgery on repeat for 2 weeks straight without anesthetics and being awake the entire time while crammed into a tiny rusty auto-doc in a massive abadonded casino filled with ghosts, a ghoul, and a mutant
>>729058157that too is my favorite perk
>>729053084Bad writing in a bad game filled with it.
>>729055873I was 24 when i came out anon.
I wonder where Dean goes if you don't kill him.
>>729059343Congrats on coming out, is your family faggot friendly?
Dead Money is really underrated in the gameplay department.Tying the Ghost People's health to their limb condition was a masterstroke, letting players without the necessary weapon skills to play it as intended anyways. Everyone experiences it the same to a point, it's just that tertiary skills come into play more than combat skills still allowing build diversity.
>>729059374He'll probably go to The Strip or New Reno.
>>729059403>Everyone experiences it the same to a pointThat's why it is dead fucking last out of the DLCs in replayability
>>729057341we are almost 30 now anon
>>729053084ego too easily bruised, got dicked by the trap Explosives check the first timeyou can't undo it or talk him out of it, the flag can be set but not un-set because it's either 'you won a speech check' or not regardless of any of your other actions
>>729058857>bro just intuit that you can stuff your inventory into a safe dumpster at goodsprings broI didn't store anything until Novac because that was the first home-base feeling location in the game. As for what's useful,>hurr just look at the crafting recipes and the weight to value ratio for random junk!shut up. kys.
I actually replayed this last week. I'm pretty sure the game lies to you through deans dialogue when you ask him for tips about the ghost people. Im pretty sure he says if you target the gas containers they throw they will damage the ghost people but all that happens is they drop it and pick it back up like every other weapon you shoot out of an npcs hand. You're really just wasting bullets not targeting a limb instead.I could also just be hallucinating all of this I've had a few
>>729059718I think if you shoot them midair after they throw them they explode. Same with grenades I'm pretty sure. Been awhile since I've played though.
>>729059692>because that was the first home-base feeling location in the gameVic's shack and the Doc's house in Goodsprings. Personally I just use the storage box in one of the trailers. But yes, Novac is my preferred player housing in the game.
>>729059692Yeah imagine having to think for yourself.>weight to value ratio for random junk! You mean the information presented to you every time you move your cursor over an item?
>>729053084Egotistical idiot who can't stand being the 2nd best in a situation.I love his characterisation because it's really accurate for a hollywood type even if it's played up a lot. It doesn't help his ego that you prance through the hell hole and manage to get into the casino within days while he's been doing stupid shit like making caches.I do find it hard to spare him though. It feels more fitting for him to die in the Sierra Madre.
>>729053084*uses speech check on you*Get fucking, little bitch.
>>729060105>Doc's houseI guess. Didn't really feel like leaving my stuff there though.>Vic's shackI didn't know wtf.>>729060209There are a bunch of random pieces of junk like cans and stuff and I like to hoard so when I couldn't do that early game I got peeved. So yes, I got mad and my anger was justified. There's no way to know if they'd be useful later through some scrapping mechanic or used as quest items.>You mean the information presented to you every time you move your cursor over an item?you took what i said seriously so you're legitimately autistic.
>>729060578>There are a bunch of random pieces of junk like cans and stuff and I like to hoardIn every bethesda game at the start of every run I make an arbitrary decision on what random piece of junk I will horde until I can fill a spare room with it later on. Most of that random vendor trash isn't worth its weight in caps.
>>729060578>I want to carry every single can and piece of junk and am too scared to leave them anywhere>my anger was justified>you're legitimately autisticNot really doing a good job of presenting that argument champ. Maybe don't play a game with item weight if you're simultaneously retarded and a hoarder. Here's an idea boy scout, save, leave your items somewhere, skip forward a few days, see if it's still there. Now back to special ed with you.
>>729053084Narcissist who thinks he's the main character actually meets the main character.
>>729060854>Here's an idea boy scout, save, leave your items somewhere, skip forward a few days, see if it's still there.see, but at that point in time, i only knew about unsafe storage in passing. i just understood that at some point it would reset, but not the specific timeframe needed for it do to so. it could be random as far as i knew. so testing would result in unimmersively standing in front of a drawer for days and i just didn't feel like doing that since a game shouldn't need you to go out of your way to test storage containers because of dumb respawning loot mechanics. I also wanted a home to go along with my storage and as I mentioned before, no place felt like home until I arrived at Novac.
Dean is probably the biggest asshole in FNV, even counting guys like Caesar or that one dude who sells slaves to the Fiends. His ego can be bruised by simply knowing something or having slightly more money than him and he will commit to a revenge scheme, just to ruin your life because of it. All of DM happens because of him, his seethe is essentially over 200+ years with nothing to show for it beyond mutants in hazmat suits, a toxic cloud of metal and poison and a booby-trapped town.
>>729053084Mind controlled by Vault-tec's evil mind control chips for capitalism.
>>729059692I can understand not knowing where to get a safe house but how the fuck can you not understand “light thing that worth more better cause can carry more” is this like your first video game with an inventory system
He just wanted to rob that casino. It's not like he was actually responsible for what happened. That would be the countries that dropped the bombs. He used Vera and Sinclair, but their deaths didn't really have anything to do with him, nor did anyone else's. He was a dick to them and committed fraud and attempted to steal lots of money, but The Courier is the only one whose life he actually threatened.>>729059374The ending slides make it pretty fucking clear, man. "Vegas was still out there in the Mojave, and its sights, its sounds, its casinos. Ripe for the taking."
>>729061814You're right, larceny is a far greater crime than enslaving and mass murdering people.
>>729062041I already explained this. Items could have value beyond their price in caps through yet unrevealed systems in the game. There was a chance that even if something had a crappy price for its weight, maybe it could be transformed into better materials or used in another unique manner. Am I wrong for assuming these things in a videogame?
>>729062387Caesar isn't an asshole though, he won't make some huge revenge plot because you're a stronger person than he is or know more about tech than he does. A murderous, imperialistic monster sure, but not someone who doesn't value the pragmatism of men and women who exceed in areas he doesn't. Sinclair was richer and more charismatic than he is, to Dean this means he had to go.
>>729062663>Caesar isn't an asshole though,
>>729062663Don't forget that he held onto that revenge plot for centuries, he could've moved on with his life but chose to stay because he was that mad about getting upstaged by a guy that's been dead since the bombs dropped.
>>729063109>>729061814Sinclair is that you?You still seething that I took your girl and cucked you?
>>729062663>covered a man in pitch, set him on fire, and threw him down the deepest chasm of the grand canyon for losing a battle that one timeBut I think I get you. Caesar is a different flavor of asshole. Dean has that seething spiteful attitude, taking everything personally and shit.
>>729055667Can you not kill dean? I always kill dean
>>729053084>B..but i picked the skill check, why is he hostile to me ???Really wished there were more instances of speech checks not being an auto win honestly.
