Will mods make this piece of shit salvageable?
Depends how much you're into sex mods
>>729058367not unless you're into weight gain.and only barely, and also only because the weight gain mod is exactly one of two fleshed out weight gain mods.
>>729058560>fleshed out
>>729058507Does Sexbound have an immersive means to start scenes yet? Don't want to keep shooting female npcs with the Aphrodite Bow
Assuming I'm not a degenerate loser furfag, what's the best five mods to have to play this from scratch. I already have like 400 hours in it from back in 2019 and haven't played since. I think it'd be fun to get back into now though.
>>729058367I haven't found any yet but then again, I'm not sure what I want for it. Better weapons and drop tables maybe? Idk.
>>729058641There's a defeat mod.
>>729058818>I think it'd be fun to get back into now though. Why do you think this
>>729058367>>729058818Frackin Universe
>>729059408Because it must be good now, it's been five or six years. Surely there are good mods now.
>>729058818fracking universe and expanded storage
>>729058818>Assuming I'm not a degenerate loser furfagthen you'd better start look for something else actually worth your time, Intravenous 2 maybe?
>>729058367>Will mods make this piece of shit salvageable?>willthey have. I've dumped almost 1000 hours into modded starbound (not just sex mods)
>>729059492>>729060387people complain FU is 'bloated' but honestly if i'm given a game where i'm offered the infinite promise of exploring the cosmos, I'd like it to have too much shit to ever get into.
Mods are already a thing, and no, they don't.
>>729059621It's been 5-6 years and no one's been able to fix the game having an aneurysm trying to load new chunks. I love falling through the world because I accidentally ran too fast. The joys of having single-player worlds be relegated to servers for some bumfuck reason
>>729061402Nah, they just dogpile FU because the lead is a lolcow and publicly fumes in his shitcord at anything negative people say about it
>>729061402>I'd like it to have too much shit to ever get intoSame. I wonder how many potential devs got scared off because of the reputation of FU and "bloat" arguments. Would be pretty crazy if you could install hundreds of GB of mods the way you can with Skyrim. I know that's all sex mods, but just imagine if it were all sorts of spritework and loot to find among many other things. I feel like Starbound fans gave up too fast, the game could be absolutely dense with things to find by now if people used this as a game to dump ideas. Well, not that the chucklefuck devs deserve their game to be popular, but I still want it.
>>729058818uninstall the game and play anything else.>terraria for boss bashing>vanilla minecraft for a simple block game>modded minecraft for tech 'tism>vintage story for survival 'tismstarbound only holds value for sexual, fetish, and furry stuff.
>>729062086My biggest problem with vintage story is that surviving is actually a fucking chore and a single wolf chasing you down ruins everything.I might go through the hoops to get overwolf installed again and pick up one of those big dick skyblock packs like atm 9 or whatever.
>>729058367I am a degenerate loser furfag, what's the best five mods?
>>729062086>stormworks for the high functioning 'tism
when I tried mods it was just more of the same. same thing with Terraria, there wasn't anything interesting
>>729062157>overwolfnouse poly
>he doesnt know about the puppy
>>729062712the fuck is poly
>>729063038polymc
>>729063106What's the difference between that and overwolf?
>>729063494bloat
just move on bro..
>>729063106I took your advice and grabbed polymc, but I know nothing about the deeper intricacies. What java would I need? Do I need anything more?
>>729064598java depends on minecraft version, look up which is necessary whenyou don't need anything more to make it work, just remember the usual like allocating ram, make backups and etc
>>729062157>surviving is actually a fucking choreyes thats the game, de-abstraction of as much as possible>a single wolf chasing you down ruins everything.you can sprint backwards, its not like minecraft where you can only sprint forwards.when i figured this out the combat just kinda clicked for me and the game became way more fun
>>729058367People still play this game?? I got bored and put it down over a decade ago
>I paid 40 extra dollars to have my name show up as a possible NPC name
>>729066286Rejoice in the thought that there is a chance I have made you into a forever hungry, happy blob for me to feed nonstop.
>>729064917I got it working but it says it can't install official curseforge packs? Is there a way I can?
>>729066542oh yeah there was some api bullshit. find the api key and once it's pasted in the right place you don't have to think about it again
Are there any mods that restore the alternate racial starts?
>>729066635Am retarded, what's an API key?
>>729066286we still had faith at that point anon, don't feel too bad
>>729058367I really enjoyed this game. It's not the best game because I would have preferred if it was set on one huge map with all biomes, settlements and threat zones rather than infinite small maps with only one biome, I am not a fan of the randomly generated weapons, fighting humanoids is awkward and the game lacks edge. But it's also a fun adventure game where you can fight, delve deep into mines and caves in search of riches, brave massive dungeons and customize your character. Farming is a really nice side feature. I had a huge cocoa plantage and had my character live almost exclusively of deliscious chocolate cake. Base building is fun and I love decorating with the spoils of my adventure. And the mech is also a great feature. Space missions offer a nice side mode where the game plays like a space shooter. You can customize your mech like you want. Mechs just feel cool and powerful, even if the are somewhat impractical. Is it the best game? No! Is it a great game worth playing? Yes!
>>729058367OpenStarbound alone is enough to breathe a good amount of life into the game, since Chucklefish never finished the damn game and threw it under the bus to go become a publisher. After that, it really depends on what you want to do, what kinds of mods you like.
>>729069363Is there any other games like this? The idea behind it is great, have your own spaceship, recruit random aliens to your crew and explore the stars is such an awesome concept, but the game falls short on literally everything. Mass Effect is nice but I've played through it too many times and Starfield has no aliens so as a xenofucker I got no interest in it at all.
>>729069750There's a game called No Man's Sky that's like that, I'd understand if you haven't heard of it; it's pretty obscure.
>>729069363Did OpenSB inspire any mod makers? Did FU at least take advantage of it?
>>729069750Ditto. No Man's Sky for the same feeling of wasted potential.
>>729069895>>729070583I know of it but when it was released I heard nothing but bad things about it so I never really checked it out. What kind of aliens you can recruit to your ship in it?
>>729071312well shit I don't know how I fucked that up.. sorry about that, repostingI spent a few hundred hours on it. The aliens aren't really much to brag about in that game. You've got frog-jews, robots only interested in grinding knowledge, a race of ugly lizard-like things that are only interested in battle, and a secret fourth race of robo defectors hiding in plain sight that broke free of their programming. The lore for each of these isn't all that interesting to be honest. They all share a similar protoculture that tried to destroy the universe or something. There's a settlement feature that gives you a planetary base that you can't decorate that's what they want you to think, anyway. This is mostly just bringing back some relatively easy to find materials to build a new building on an IRL timer. Once I figured out how sneak a Base Computer inside the settlement and started decorating it with the various items you can get with Quicksilver, I felt some attachment to it. I'm probably overselling it though, it's really nothing too special.NMS is a very "wide as an ocean deep as a puddle" kind of game. I think Starbound could have resembled it if Chucklefish had been faithful to the project and continued updating it until it resembled something you could admit was at least "okay". The bad things aren't as true today as they were back at launch but it's still a fairly mediocre game.
>>729062086I think the second Vintage Story gets a sort of overhaul pack that adds sci-fi elements it's largely going to kill off Starbound. If some turbo autists manage to totally overhaul the game and effectively add space travel that can generate new maps, Starbound will have no real niche to itself besides being a goofy sprite sex game.
>>729066709In settings there's the CurseForge API field, you have to paste the key (leaked, google for it), and after that it lets you download stuff unrestricted
