>“Super Mario Bros., definitely. I played it for a year. I was a college student. I skipped school to play at home. Without Super Mario Bros., I probably wouldn’t be in this industry.”I think it's crazy how he doesn't even play video games anymore yet he's never made one bad game and no controversies. The creator of the most complex gaming franchises and says, "Without Super Mario Bros, I probably wouldn't be in this industry." is crazy!
>>729059783Damn, kojima got all that?
>>729059783Look at that fuckin CAKE
>"Yeah. I can’t really play it now, though. It’s a side-scrolling action game. Mario just goes left to right."What a pretentious faggot>ooooh, I'm too good to play the original Super Mario Bros.

>>729059938>ooooh, I'm too good to play the original Super Mario Bros. This but unironically. If you're the most influential gaming directors of all time he 100% is allowed to say that. You don't play it either though don't you? Thought so nigger.
>>729060024>You don't play it either though don't you?I do because it's fun.>b-b-but left to rightI'd rather play a sidescroller than a fucking movie.
>>729059783you don't need to be a avid videogame player to make good games you just gotta come up with cool ideas.
>>729059783GYATT
>>729060097>I do because it's fun.Shut the fuck up dude you're not playing SMB right now you're more pretentious than Kojima you fuckin dork.>I'd rather play a sidescroller than a fucking movie. You can still play games with great cinematics with superb gameplay. Go play MGS2 on European Extreme mode and tell me how it goes! I'll wait.
>>729060118>you don't need to be a avid videogame playerPlaying and making video games are 2 different things anon. You don't need to be an active video game player to understand great gameplay design. He directs, produces, writes, does level design.. Literally has to watch every single part of his game. And somehow, he's never made one bad game. How is an ideas guy able to get away with it? Genuine question.
>>729060210it's like how the best sports coaches never really were best players when they were playing.
>>729060348>it's like how the best sports coaches never really were best players when they were playing. And somehow walked away with the best teams in the world. It's amazing, right? Hideo Kojima is simply talented.

Bing bing wahoo
>>729059783Everyone is so mean 2 me.
>>729059783Damn, is Super Mario Bros. the most important game ever?
>NOTHING AT ALL>NOTHING AT ALL>NOTHING AT ALL
>>729060787If you are alluding to Kojima's worst games, then, indeed, I dislike intensely Metal Gear Solid V and the ghastly Death Stranding rigamarole. No, I do not object to soul-searching and self-revelation, but in those games the soul, and the sins, and the sentimentality, and the journalese, hardly warrant the tedious and muddled search. Kojima’s lack of taste, his monotonous dealings with persons suffering with pre-Freudian complexes, the way he has of wallowing in the tragic misadventures of human dignity – all this is difficult to admire. I do not like this trick his characters have of ”sinning their way to Jesus” or, as a Russian author, Ivan Bunin, put it more bluntly, ”spilling Jesus all over the place." Metal Gear Solid 4’s plot did not seem as incredibly banal in 2008 when the game was written as it does now when noble mercenaries are apt to be received a little cynically by experienced players. Kojima never really got over the influence which the European arthouse film and the sentimental novel made upon him. The sentimental influence implied that kind of conflict he liked—placing virtuous people in pathetic situations and then extracting from these situations the last ounce of pathos. Non-Japanese gamers do not realize two things: that not all Japanese love Kojima as much as Americans do, and that most of those Japanese who do, venerate him as a mystic and not as an artist. He is a prophet, a claptrap journalist and a slapdash comedian. I admit that some of his scenes, some of his tremendous farcical rows are extraordinarily amusing. But his sensitive couriers and soulful mercenaries are not to be endured for one moment—by this gamer, anyway. Kojima seems to have been chosen by the destiny of Japanese letters to become Japan’s most mediocre screenwriter, but he took the wrong turning and wrote video games.
>>729062195>he's like one of the top game designers of all timeCalm down. He made Shenmue (first two had cult followings without mainstream appeal, while the third was atrocious) and Virtua Fighter (middling 3D fighter that ended up losing to Tekken and Soulcalibur)
>>729059783>KJP>Ko Jima ProductionsHuh?
>>729062195This. So much this.
>>729068448you talk like a fag and your shit's all retarded
