Why are Valve the only company doing these in 2025?
>b-but muh third parties
Yeah sure but there's no official ones from Sony, Xbox or Nintendo
>>

There's no reason to ever give console faggets anything good, they made their controllers cheap and shitty so they'll buy a new one, the average console retard monkey breaks their controller on a daily basis.

It's not really a solution to the issue of chinks intentionally supplying defective parts to first parties.
Ultimately it's fine for a niche controller like the Ibex, but the quality control issues would just show back up if the entire industry started using tmr sticks.
>>

This. Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft are publicly traded companies so there's an incentive to making cheap shit that breaks easily so people have to keep buying new things so line go up and shareholders are happy. Meanwhile Valve is a private company and doesn't have to answer to anyone.
>>
>>729062068
probably using the cheapest ones they can get with input lag and cheap chink longevity, I wouldn't hold my breath just yet.

GOYmers get the rope
>>
>>729062068
i hope they make another version with no sticks at all
>>
>>729062068
I had early drift with the pro controllers and joycons on the switch 1, but I haven't had it at all yet at all on my switch 2 controllers. I dont know what they even did but something is different about them.
>>
>>729062396
nintendo will still replace joycons for free, and yes that's still cheaper for them than just building them better to begin with
>>
>>729062068
GameSAAAR uses TMR sticks. I swear by the Cyclone 2
>>
>>729062634
you're probably just not using them as much cause the switch 2 has no games
>>
>>729062068
>Yeah sure but there's no official ones from Sony, Xbox or Nintendo
Why should they lol? The only selling point of their gamepads is that they're official and in case on Sony and Xbox are only compatible gamepads.
>>
>>729062451
> muh chink
Chink gamepads are better built, have better tmr/magnetic sticks and usually have 1000 Hz polling rate. First party shit has cheap sticks, cheap buttons and 250/125 Hz polling rate.
Stop being bootlicker for big corpos, they're not your friends
>>
>>729063207
must have overlooked the part where I said "cheap"
steam deck 1.0 also used only the cheapest parts and sold it to all the retarded early adopters.
don't see why it will be different this time around.
>>
>>729063329
Yeah, now show me cheapest TMR sticks that have high input latency lol
>>
>>729063207
Chinks are the ones giving shitty parts to first parties, they don't get any praise.
>MUH BILLION ZILLION POLLING RAT
Unnecessary.
>>
>>729063430
Wtf are you talking about retard? While Chinese manufacturers like Gulikit, Gamesaar, 8bitdo moved to magnetic/tmr sticks Sony, Xbox and Nintendo are still putting potentiometers even in their premium pads that cost ~$100 and potentiometers is a inferior technology that is guaranteed to fail. This is clearly greedy corporate decision that comes from headquarters in California.
>>
>>729063721
Chinese ass vernacular.
>>
>>729062068
because that way they can sell more because they're greedy fucks? Isn't that a little obvious?
why sell something the user won't have to replace for a lifetime if you can instead sell something which breaks after a while and will force the user to re-purchase? Obviously valve are not as greedy in this regard
>>
>>729063893
Chinese ass verbal slip implying Valve of any company is "greedy".
>>
>>729063930
meds
>>
>>729062068
Gamesaar and Vader 5 do them. I think razor too. But Im gonna be real. Threre isn't much diffrence in them and hall effect 12.
>>
No one gives a shit about slightly better analogs when your dpad is dogshit and the ergonomics are mediocre
There is literally no reason to ever use this controller over a switch 2 pro controller, an xbox elite controller (or just a normal sexbox controller), or a dualsense edge

Valve always does 1 step forward 5 steps back but their dick suckers pretend the 5 steps back don't exist
>>
>>729066262
Switch 2 Pro is at least the definitive way to play Nintendo's games if you really want the home console experience. Dualsense is PlayStation shit and the Xbox controller is the worst controller ever conceived. Microsoft can take their non-PC controller and shove it up their ass, fucking traitors. Steam Controller is the definitive PC controller.

>Sony, Xbox or Nintendo
controller replacements actually make up a very big chunk of revenue for these three, especially Sony and Nintendo. you can literally read Nintendo's financial statements and see that controller sales are one of their main continuous revenue source. that is literally it, there is no functional reason not not use magnetic sensors on both sticks and triggers, and the parts aren't any more expensive than potentiometers either. In fact, a majority of stick drift cases could be completely mitigated through software, which they obviously don't do either,
