I just recently realized the "friend" boss is named Tovari, and I also learned the Russian word for 'comrade' recently is tovarisch. Without looking it up I have to believe these are cognate words with the same root.

Yeah, all the bosses except one are side content mostly. The game's strengths are in wand crafting and exploration.

It'd be more fun if "shuffle" wasn't such a binary statistic to make wands unusable, it's so much worse on wands with more spell slots

You could even have it so that some slots will only ever shuffle with some other slots, you could show off which they're paired with by making them blue, green or pink
You could do anything that might make a shuffle wand more interesting and useful than a non-shuffle wand

I just raided a bunch of parallel worlds and got 10x stainless armor and and infinite damage and circle of vigor tele wand and I also literally found a Healthium flask in Snowy Depths on my way down, but I currently have no objectives or aims with this run. I think I want the amulet and will have to figure out how to do 33 orb run, but I don't know if I can cheese it yet by going to NG+ and then killing Kolmi and then getting the orbs to avoid having to fight him. I've never done it before hence my hesitation, but I just did the sun quest for the first time a few days ago (I died on both suns and came back with +1 perks) and now I've got the thirst for more bling
