I'm not sure if it's only on the hardest difficulty setting but the last boss can't be shot down, like when his healthbar reaches 0 he still keeps spamming attacks and when it should only take 1 more hit to finish him off you can empty all your missiles and cannons into him for 5 minutes straight and he still keeps flying.

AC7 has a checkpoint system which is a blessing when learning. You could waste 20min on a mission in PW because you shot down a dude a little bit too close and crashed into the debris.
