Amerifags overrate Gamecube because it was their childhood console. PS2 absolutely dominated that era and GC was as influential as OG Xbox. Even Dreamcast was the kit sponsor for Arsenal, GC and Xbox had no influence outside of American and some Anglo countries (For GC, this includes Japs)

But at least it isn't as overrated as N64.

Dreamcast was basically off the board by the time GameCube and Xbox arrived. PS2 was so popular it dominated what should be considered two generations.
