did you like the v-system?
>>729069068Yes, I liked it a lot. The concept was great, that of every character having a unique move that gave them cool gameplay options and let them eventually cashout with v-triggers. At its best it was truly fantastic with characters like Balrog and G. There were some uninspired v-skills like all the parry ones but overall I really liked the idea and for the most part the execution as well.
>>729069068It's better than the drive system.
SF6 drive system is more balanced overall (but boring and too universal) but the v-system felt more unique even if some characters got boring shit like parries or just plain dogshit like cammy v-skill 1All it proves between SF5 and SF6 that balanced isn't necessarily fun and vice versa, maybe SF7 will get the balance right
Yeah, it felt like loadout customization in shooters, which lets you adjust the game to your playstyle. Similar to different supers you could select in older games.
No... but, anything is better than Slime Slide.
i miss urien
>>729071047aisloppers really do just make the worst posts on the entire site
>>729070927based and true. devs keep that everything has to be balanced mindset and it leads to cool and funny stuff being left out of fgs. tekken genuinely does this right because every character has like 20 completely retarded moves you would never use except to style on people
>>729069068I liked Juri's Vskill1
>>729071869even the retarded shit in tekken like unblockables sometimes work when your opponent has a deer in headlights moment or 10 strings if you need a little damage and your opponent never seen it beforethey obviously are shit but the possibility is there and modern fightin needs more of that, shit for the sake of it
>>729071047 Slime Slide actually might be the worst mechanic ever cooked up in a lab. You know it’s dire when even the people who defend it can’t tell you where or how it’s fun. It’s like someone watched a game they didn’t understand and tried to replicate the notion of pressure without knowing what made it engaging. Absolute low-tier sludge.
>>729069068I only played up to Akuma release so I'm clueless how the game changed afterwards, but I really hated how v-trigger let you confirm counter hits into big boy damage. Especially with Balrog it was piss easy if you managed to counter hit with standing roundhouse. Not only makes it a loud ass noise, it had that small screen freeze that would give you ample time to hit your dedicated baby game mechanic button and convert it into a combo that deleted half of your opponents health. I really loathe modern fighting games. Even Tekken, a game that is really easy to pick up and play, managed to kill most complexity it ever had by catering towards an audience that doesn't exist.
>>729069068All comeback mechanics are shit
If you squint your eyes the thumbnail looks like Heimerdinger with sunglasses.
I miss SFV more than I would have ever thought I would. I fucking hate 6. Killed my interest in my favorite genre and franchisr.
SFV was shit when it released but it got fixed with the last season and sadly nobody cared then, but it was a really good game in the end
>>729069068No. Having a comeback mechanic be that important was not fun. Entire characters like Urien and Oro basically just fucked around and mashed buttons until they got V-trigger and then attempted to rob you
>>729069068It was a hell of a lot better than the drive system from 6 at leastI miss SFV, it had soul and was genuinely great by the end except for the shitty netcode
I own 6 and V but never play 6. I play V every week.
