This year has been extremely underwhelming for NintendoDo you think they could make a comeback next year?
>>729069598For a launch year they didn't do too badCompare the launch year games of the Switch 2 and PS5 for example
>>729069598>This year has been extremely underwhelming for NintendoOnly in bizarro world.
>>729069598The problem didn't started with the Switch 2, it just made it more obvious with shit like 80 dollar games and how Pokemon A/Z is now basically shovelware. The issue was already clear with TOTK and previous Pokémon games, Nintendo feels lost, they are relying on IPs and nostalgia rather than coming up with a new vision for the future of gaming, as they tried to do in the past. But it's a complex issue, I think it's rooted in having a monopoly on handheld gaming, which has made them complacent and less willing to try crazy risks. This was becoming evident with the 3DS, but the failure of the Wii U forced them to actually try something different with the Switch and deliver some of their best with games like Breath of the Wild and Three Houses. What killed Nintendo was the Vita being such a failure.

>>729069598I hope not, Nintendo needs to fire it's leadership and let new people lead the company, with hopefully less predatory practices and not have the desire to make their next big thing Nintendo's answer to the MCU.
>>729069598No they're completely doomed because they let down veterinarian metroid fans and gaming won't exist in 5 years because of this.
>>729071081Very true my fellow goy
>>729071081I didn't know animal doctors made up such a large portion of the Metroid fanbase.
>>729069942>but the failure of the Wii U forced them to actually try something different with the Switch and deliver some of their best with games like Breath of the WildBreath of the Wild was still a Zelda game, using that old IP as a crutch. Nintendo should bring out something that is high quality and also brand new. They seem to limit their creative scope to "a bold spin on a series that goes all the way back to the NES." I'd like to see a major title completely dislocated from the old Nintendo standards, with no Mario characters involved. But they've always been reluctant to do so, even when they have a novel gameplay idea. Luigi's Mansion didn't need to have Luigi in it, for example.
>>729069598Hardware sales wise, no.Software was very lackluster compared to the launch year of OG Switch.
