The game is good as long as you can into its atmosphere and like how combat feels and sounds. There are people, who call it offline MMO because they experience it as MMO (and, in fact, it was supposed to be an MMO), but those people usually can't experience the world on any level outside of gameplay even to save their lives.
Even its remaster only slightly worsens the atmosphere by reducing bloom a bit, but removing memory leak.
But for the love of gods don't play new addon (exists only for remaster). Deutschlanders, who made the remake, are double soulless and had failed to understand the magical irish dream legend atmosphere of the first game so hard i suspect they had intentionaly decided to make their fanfic as shitting on main character, original plot, setting and visuals as possible. Not to mention modern californian office lingo everywhere.

I was one of these people and i dropped the game so many times due to boredom. However there is something about the game that forced me to return to it few times. Once I decided I will treat it as proper RPG and I actually started talking to all NPC, read all optional dialogues and it was awesome. Dropped due to boredom again.
