Hunting in RDR1 was my favorite thing ever.
Hunting in RDR2... :(
>>
Fascinating, thanks for the regurgitated youtube video summary, lil zoom.
>>
>>729074383
you really didn't even need to hunt in rdr1, trhe animals just flocked around you and didn't even try to run away
>>
explain why 1 is superior, genuinely curious ive only played 2
>>
>>729075757
Imo only the story is superior (because RDR2 is like a David Cage game storywise, it aims to touch upon every cliche of its theme so the end result is a Wild West story that has a little bit of everything but does not very well. RDR1's story is a bit more unique, and John in that game is more, well, for the lack of a better word, rarer character than typical protagonist Arthur.), but everything else, as it would be expected from a game that's 8 years older, is inferior.

>>729076021
meant the hunting specifically but good reply

RDR2's hunting is so far above RDR that it's not even close. I don't think they should even call it hunting in RDR.
>>
>>729075757
Because 1 is a videogame.
2 is a tedious sim for autistic LARPers.

I thought it was unbearable
>>

rdr1 was a hunting game
rdr2 was a fishing game
rdr3 will be a trapping game
rdr4 will be a foraging game
>>
>>729077776
oh and rdr5 will be a ranching game
>>
Unrelated but I liked hunting in RDR2. I would almost exclusively use bows with the upgraded arrows. Wish hunting was more profitable in RDR2 Online, it’s like the one thing I enjoyed doing in that game
>>
>>729077886
I also liked hunting with bows but I fucking hated how you needed like 4 types of arrows depending on your prey and making arrows one by one and running out of feathers was such a fucking chore
>>
>>729077494
These zooms get new appointed buzzwords every month from tiktok.
>>
>>729074383
I've been trying to play through the slog of Rdr2. It's just not clicking
>>
>>729078075
Dont bother. It has too much tedium and never gets fun.
>>
>>729077886
hunting was very profitable in RDO when i was playing it hard during covid. a wagon full of three star pelts on a long delivery would get you $600ish bucks per delivery. other players can steal your shit on a long delivery too, so the tension was always palpable. making my first run from blackwater to saint denis was a pants-shitting experience, until i got the explosive rifle ammo recipe at least
>>
>sent hours hunting in rdr2 so i could to the camp shit
>trying to find a single 3 star moose
Never again. Some asshole was having a fucking laugh with those spawn rates.

Watch as it happens again in GTAVI. There'll be some hunting, and one animal will be a rare as fuck just to take the piss.
>>
>>729075757
They pop around you
Your character moves faster
Your horse handles well
>>
>>729077567
showed that black buck who's boss
>>
>>729077567
arent black bears meant to be "neutral" animals? its the brown fur ones that are really hostile towards humans
>>
>>729079024
Black bears, yes, but that's a grizzly bear that just has black fur.
>>
There was nothing better than to larp as a survivalist during covid, camping out near that wooden town, whatever it's name. Fishing, hunting, cooking something to eat, then going to sleep, returning to the town early in the morning to sell what's left.

You just had to be there.
>>
Why didn't we get a vampire or werewolves expansion for RDR2?
>>
>>729079356
wolves make sense
>silver bullets
>disheveled naked men in the woods
>hunting by moonlight
slap an infection mechanic between settlements for the story and bang its done

blood suckers seems like it'd need more of a social deduction type of thing going on and i dont know that rdr2 can support that
>>
>>729075757
Wild West Old School GTA vs. Modern moviegame
>>
>>729074383
Hunting is better in RDR2 for sure, theres more depth to the mechanics and it gives you more incentives to hunt animals
>>
>>729080483
>depth
>riding my horse from anywhere to anywhere
>arthur starts bitching that he murders animals he isnt even hunting
>because 9001 rabbits and shit run under the horse any time it moves
>incentives
they fucked the economy up again, literally no point in robbing someone with X% chance the law come after you if you only make 13c when you could just go shoot two of the most nonchalant animals loitering around you like arthurs a disney princess and get 100 times as much from their hides/meat

It's not about colour, it's a species difference
>>
>>729080736
Not just that as well, the consumables you receive from skinning the animals are also incredibly useful and obviously costs practically nothing unlike the ones you buy from the store.
>>
>>729074383
My asshole has never been as tight as it was when I was hunting the legendary cougar, that little fuck had me stress sweating for almost 2 hours straight.
>>
>>729074383
rdr1 is arcade slop
>>
>>729077494
Zoomers are rapidly approaching 30 and are going all out in trying to hold onto their youth by spamming unc on cooldown
>>
>>729079024
I don't relax around blacks period
