Is Metroid Dread worth $60, I'm craving more metroid after Prime 4?
>>729082105Fuck off marketer
>craving more metroid after Prime 4said nobody ever
>>729082105I’d say it’s worth $40.
>>729082105it's free on PC
>>729082105I'm sure you can find it for cheaper, but absolutely, in my opinion it's a Top 3 Metroid game and my personal new favorite.
It's not worth $60, no. Pick up Silksong for $16 instead if you want a Metroidvania.
>>729082105>Metroid Dreadit's the best Metroid after Super anon. Go buy it and have fun.
>>729082105It’s worth playing, but not for $60. Get it on a discount.
It doesnt have an empty desert and chatty friends so I don't think you'll like it :-(
>>729082606RB talks a fucking lot all over the game
It's just a very fun game. Moving around and shooting shit feels great, and while there's a few too many obnoxious sawtooths (sawteeth?) for my liking the map was fun to explore and connected in a bunch of interesting ways. After I beat the game I immediately started a bad speedrun attempt (after looking up the sequence breaks) just because it was so fun to go fast and blast shit.
>>729082105>craving more Metroid after BeyondIf you liked that slop you should play Other M.
>>729082673He's cool though. And very strong.
>>729082190because Prime 4 is enough to satisfy?
>>729082976Other M is for retards who pretend japanese Sonic writing is good
>>729082420Silksong is a joke of a game, fuck everyone who likes it.
>>729083486You could just say you hate good videogames, anon. Nobody here on /v/ would disagree with you.
>>729083486Just because you don’t like it doesn’t invalidate the positive reception.
>>729083663No, I hate overrated dogshit like Silksong. If you enjoy that shit then you have no taste.
>>729083748>I hate good gamesWe know.
>>729083486Filtered.
>>729082105Do you like 2D metroids? If so, then yes. Otherwise no.
>>729083828Tastelet.
>>729082105No, get prime remastered instead if you haven't played the original. Dread is better than prime 4 but prime R is better than both and cheaper
>>729082105I have close to 90 hours on Dread so yes
Yes, it's a quality game, but you can get it second hand for cheaper.
>>729082105Absolutely. It’s my favorite Switch game.
I had more fun with Prime 4 than Dread.
>>729082105It's worth $40. Realistically they should've priced it there and have a $30 sale price. I think it's a lot of fun and I don't regret my purchase. Metroid Prime 4 is fucking dogshit.>>729082321This.>>729082369Castrate yourself PC Vegan. The reason you bitch about Devuno, you created it for yourself. A subculture of third worldie tier piracy from Southeast Asia, Eastern Europe, South America, India.
>>729082105$40 high-quality 2D Metroid + $20 Nintendo taxDread is a very good game. It feels good to play moment-to-moment, 100% items is fun, great bosses, sequence-breaking is excellent... It's just an overall damn good Metroid game. The soundtrack is the weakest part of the game, though, sadly. It's not a bad soundtrack, but it's not full of bangers like most Metroid games tend to be.
>>729087467Metroid Dread Switch 2 patch with more music and native 4K.
>>729087552I'd settle for just some basic anti-aliasing, lol.
>>729082105Not that Metroid's story is hugely relevant to enjoying any of the games, note that Dread is technically Metroid 5 and a direct sequel to Fusion. If you have the time and motivation, I'd recommend at least playing Super Metroid (Metroid 3) and/or Fusion (Metroid 4) first before playing Dread for additional context (both lore- and gameplay-wise) to enhance the experience.(Metroid 1 and Metroid 2 haven't aged quite as well as the others -- they're still great games, though -- I just wouldn't recommend them to series newcomers.)
>>729085856same
>>729087467>The soundtrack is the weakest part of the game, though, sadly. It's not a bad soundtrack, but it's not full of bangers like most Metroid games tend to beIronically enough, the best themes are the remixed versions of the Metroid theme and Lower Brinstar, which you unfortunately only listen to during a cutscene.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3mt7fkr7-cAIt was pretty much the same case with 3DS Samus Returns which also used Lower Brinstar, but at least as part of the OST of one of the levels, so you could listen to it for longer.
>>729090316I'll see your Lower Brinstar remix and raise you one: https://youtu.be/hjNa7TS-heMAs far as actual level themes go in Dread, I think Burenia is probably the best one: https://youtu.be/IYMXYwGw1vg
>>729090797Burenia and drogyga them are my favorite tracks
>>729083486Silksong is better than Hollow Knight, fuck you for being a shitter
>>729082105Yes.Biggest complaint (aside from mid music) is it's too short but I think it's compact length is a strength. All killer no filler.Add the fact Prime 4 is going through the coals BECAUSE it artificially adds length with menial bullshit, this further convinces me on my belief the game being 8 hours is a GOOD thing.
>>729093668>All killer no filler.Between going for 100% item collection, Hard mode, Dread mode, sequence-breaking after your first playthrough, and the boss rush mode, I'd say there's more than enough content to satisfy even the hungriest Metroid fan.
>>729082105Not a single person thought that prime 4 was a metroid game, sorry jew we just aren't playing it
>>729093668>>729094304Dread is like a classic Metroid in the sense that on a blind first playthrough it can be a 10 hour game but as you get good at it, it becomes more like two or three hours. It feels amazing mastering the movement and routing to just blow through it in an afternoon.
>>729093668>is it's too shortBullshit, it took me 10 hours during my first playthrough to 100% it and surely a lot of people got filtered by the many Speed Booster puzzles.
>>729086075Tendie mad
>>729094494I agree but it's the number one thing people always complain about (aside for the music). There are several replies in this thread right now saying "Too short, should've been 40 bucks".
>>729082105>I crave for more shitWell worth it
>>729094494iirc my first save game had about 20 hours on it by the time I collected 100% of the items. My second playthrough (where I deliberately sequence-broke as much as humanly possible) was arguably even more enjoyable. There's a surprising amount of dev-intended sequence breaks for major upgrades that makes intentionally ignoring the golden path on a repeat playthrough a ton of fun.
>>729094718>There are several replies in this thread right now saying "Too short, should've been 40 bucks".Because those are the same people trying to pile Metroid against Hollow Knight which arguably wastes your time with constant reruns and tons of backtracking to pile those 60 hours of playthrough.
>>729094848it’s always just a run of the mill shitposter behind this kind of niggatry, real bugchads stay in their lane. they are unbothered and in their element and aren’t so insecure they need to compare their games to others
>>729082105>Is Metroid Dread worth $60no>I'm craving more metroid after Prime 4sweet Jesus
>>729091941They both suck, but Silksong happens to suck even more, amazing.
>>729094848It strikes me as a $40 game because it looks like Samus Returns, a $40 game made by the same devs.
>>729097071again, is Prime 4 supposed to satisfy me completely?
>>729098457Did you even play Samus Returns? Dread is a massive improvement over that game.
>>729098804I didn't finish it, but yeah I got it day one. I'm not sure what the improvement would be? at face value it looks like free aim without standing still, and that's it. The gameplay looks like it's still got that melee counter Ninja Gaiden/Other M combat going on.
>>729099124The melee counter still exists, but it can be performed while moving/jumping which makes the combat very fluid compared to the more clunky counter in Samus Returns.
>>729099124Let me think:>Movement is pristine and incredibly fluid>Melee is still there but it's way less prevalent, missiles are usually the better options to deal against enemies and you quickly get stronger beams that get rid of enemies faster>At most, melee will net you some free damage against bosses, but their prompts are rare and you're given like half a second to react>The bosses themselves are a massive improvement over Samus Returns and actually hard, you'll start getting almost a tank of damage not even halfway through the game>Map structure is overall superior, all the areas are interconnected through tram stations, elevators or teleporters>Game is linear enough to not force people into constant backtracking, but open enough to allow you to backtrack wherever you want and try new areas or even attempt to sequence break>EMMI sections are always tense regardless of how many abilities you obtain, but the run from the entrance to the exit is short enough to not become annoying. They're pretty much a test of your abilities and character controlMercury Stream learned from what Samus Returns lacked and improved the experience tenfold with Dread. It is absolutely on par with Super in terms of quality.
>>729083486what games do you like anon?
>>729082105It's just a butchered version of super and fusion where you can't even aim in 8 directions and cant move and shoot. Just use your $60 play those two or a more action oriented metroidvania or megaman game.
>>729100318>can't even aim in 8 directionsYou can?>cant move and shootYou can??What compelled you to write this nonsense post?
>>729100538Anon must have seen the 360 degree stationary aiming (maybe in a youtube clip) and thought that was the only way you can shoot anything in the game.
