They wanted to turn her from a Tomb Raider into a "Seeker of Truth" for a while now, and this could be their chance to do it, but we'll only find out about that when it actually comes out. This agenda was received extremely negatively, so we can only hope the IP holder tells them to fuck off with their virtue signaling and just make actual Tomb Raider games, but the Crystal Dynamics boss keeps doubling down on insisting pic related is canon. This could either be the final nail in the coffin for the entire franchise, or an actual reboot and return to form. We'll just have to wait and see.
