>Is the best dungeon of all time in your path
>>
that's not the forest temple
>>
>>729085929
That's not Shadow.
>>
>>729085929
Shame you have to slog through the rest of the game first.
>>
>>729085929
I always laugh at the locked door with a triforce symbol on the floor in front of it at the end of the adult part. It's like dude, this is the last temple of the game, what kind of puzzle even is this?
>>
>>729085929
the one zelda id consider one of the greatest games ever
>>
The final dungeons are actually very linear compared to the earlier adults ones and that's a potentially good thing, as it would have allowed the final parts to be difficult challenge gauntlets, if only that hadn't been wasted
>>
Water temple is a tedious dungeon with poor sign posting of where you're supposed to go next. It's actually perfect to compare it to Forest Temple. Both of them have a lot of doors to go through initially, but Forest drives you through its maze naturally. Water temple is a vertical level which is its major weakness. Spirit temple is actually really good if you ignore the child link portion. Spirit temple is a great high point to end the game, whereas Water temple is a slog.
>>
>>729086235
The final dungeons were the first ones made so that's not a surprise.
>>
>>729086076
you can literally do it after forest temple without a single glitch lmao fucking noob
>>
>>729086235
cute idea but they are actually incredibly basic and neither shadow nor spirit require a single item from the previous dungeon.

What is Stone Tower

Yeah you’re right. I’ve just never done it.

I'm replaying OoT and I'm at the water temple. I'm crying so much because this is ass and I miss the ice arrows from Majora's Mask. The water temple from that game was so much better due to the zora mask and the ice arrows. Also I want to fuck Malon raw missionary style.
>>
>>729086928
you could have gotten the ice arrows already if you wanted them so much, even if they're much more useless here
>>

Shadow and Forest Temple mog EH REH
>>
Fire > spirt > forest > water > shadow
Shadow is ass, it's just a straight path with very easy boot puzzles, hardest encounter is just the stalfos ambush from forest, and bad music
Pretty ugly and the horror is done better in the mini kid dungeon
I genuinely don't know why people like it outside of extremely vague "atmosphere"

A pile of dogshit.

>>729086235
i'll take you up on this - and i completely agree. you can tell a lot of people itt never played this game on 3 hearts, there is some inkling or hint of what you're talking about here but it seems to me nintendo needed to pump the breaks to keep it a kiddy game. almost like the rooms in this temple were, idk, emptied out after a more challenging initial design. (?: >>729086179)

It is a kids games? Nothing wrong with that, but that is what Zelda is aimed towards
I played it when I was a kid and had a great time and I still enjoy it now just for the comfyness
>>
>>729087076
Don't you need the long hookshot to reach Gerudo Fortress? You missed the point, a water dungeon complexity isn't bad when done right. Majora's Mask added ice element which made it such a breeze to play through. I enjoy it way more than most dungeons. Stone Tower is a drag and the first 2 dungeons suck. Always enjoy the 3D head thinking you clear MM Water Temple.

6/10. Needs more Eh Re.

Epona can actually jump across the ravine, though that fact certainly isn't intuitive, considering the broken ends of the bridge are level with one another. There's a mini-cutscene of Epona making the jump. It's sort of like the jumps to escape from Lon Lon Ranch.

i know that difficulty has a lot of value-judgements associated with it on this board -- im not like that though, im just commenting that it seems too me like spirit is too empty, like it was hollowed out - like there had been more combat there but its been removed.

What am I in for?

>>729087741
better than vanilla but worse than pc ports

Quality of life changes and 30FPS lock. N64 version is 22FPS.

>fanfic PC vegan port
Okay PCVegan.

the quintessential adventure game

it's kinda crazy how taken for granted oot is these days when it was so monumental on release. even within it's own franchise it's such a towering achievement with the flawless transition to 3D and the amount of phenomenal lore it added.

OoT is the first appearance of gorons, zoras (as we know them now), gerudo, sheikah, and ganondorf. You kids cannot imagine how magical that world was to explore, absolutely everything was novel and brand new
>>
>>729088250
also kokiri and great deku tree
>>
>>729088250
We knew that Ganon was once a human named Ganondorf in A Link to the Past, and Agahnim was arguably him in human form (Ganon created the form from scratch, hence making statues of himself on the Pyramid of Power), but Ganondorf was indeed first confirmed as such in Ocarina of Time.
>>
Once I filled my living room with sand, turned some fans on and turned the heating way up while doing Spirit Temple, I put some Nasheed and muezzin recordings on as well, it was atmospheric as fuck
>>
Once I took my TV and console into the center of an active volcano to play through the Fire Temple. I wanted the fully immersive and authentic experience that the developers were aiming for.
